When I'm running on battery power and don't touch the trackpad or

later; 3) the display goes to sleep after that. I have found the

I just bought a brand new 14" iBook, and it is just superb.
However, I want to get something else I can take on the road. Something

Do you think a Powerbook g3 would be good? what tricks could a

I'm trying to bring up a PowerBook 1400cs without a CD drive. It has a
corrupted installation of 7.5.3, which means I can only start up the
machine with extensions turned off.
I've got a full set of floppies to install 7.5.3, but it doesn't have the

A while ago I posted the post below about buying a Mac vs. a Linux / XP
laptop or desktop and got lots of useful advice. Many advised to wait
until the release of the new Intel Macs.
I've managed to use a borrowed desktop and laptop for a couple of

I have an iPod mini which recently on the loss of battery (low

it has been put on an AC adapter, USB and FireWire port on both a

I almost inserted a small CD (like used by some photo cameras) into the
CD drive of my power book. Then hesitated... what if I never saw it

Does anyone know whether one can put these small CDs (size of mini-disc

Being a student and bringing my computer (Powerbook G4 running MacOS
10.4.4) to the school library often to do my homework it's essential
that I have audio turned off. I've solved the startup sound issue by
installing the freeware "Startup preferance pane"

I'm new to the forum and hoping to get some help in my decision
making process.  I'm looking to purchase a laptop (this will be my

Made the plunge...06 Feb 2006 14:22 GMT3
This is coming to you from my brand new 15" Powerbook G4.
So far I am very pleased with my purchase -- The screen even seems
sharper than it had looked on the store display models (probably more
an issue of lighting and positioning than anything.)
iBook clamshell blank screen06 Feb 2006 01:16 GMT3

then corrupted, gradually becoming white.  By tilting the screen I could
get it working occasionally.
Sometimes it would boot with just the blank white screen from the start.
