G4 Ti Speaker volume?15 Jan 2006 17:47 GMT2
I've always had the problem of needing to set my PB G4 Ti to close to
maximum volume to get what I'd call normal volume.
I noticed it again when watching the MacWorld Keynote webcast yesterday.
I'm curious if low speaker volume is an issue with the PB G4 Ti.
Best way to extend powerbook on long plane trip?15 Jan 2006 08:00 GMT5
I will be travelling from Vancouver to Germany non-stop, about 10
hours. I have a Mac Powerbook G4. What are the best options for having
the "juice" to work a lot of that time? I can always buy a second
battery but expect there are other possibilities.
Powerbook freezes when near to electrical cable?14 Jan 2006 04:22 GMT2
Is that possible?
Because my Powerbook Titanium G4 is freezing randomly, but it seems to
happen more often when near to PC computers... (No, it's not a joke).
After a couple of freezes and restarts, it makes three beeps at boot,

ibook different from a regular english one? Is there physical different
keyboards? I have to buy one via futureshop.ca but they are sold out of
all their english 12" ones, although they do have a frrench model
What's the little metal disk under my Num Lock key?13 Jan 2006 03:15 GMT5
What's the purpose of the little metal disk underneath the keyboard
where the Num Lock and F7 keys reside?  (There's actually a large, flat
one covering a smaller inset one.)  It makes my keyboard bubble up there.

No PCMCIA in MacBook Pro12 Jan 2006 00:27 GMT3
Well, that's a deal killer for me.  As a road warrior, the ideal solution has
been Verizon's EVDO card: broadband anytime anywhere, falling back to 3x modem
speeds in smaller markets.  But, this is a PCMCIA card, and there are no
"ExpressCard/34" solutions yet.
Pismo revival trick11 Jan 2006 20:54 GMT1
Venerable Pismo. PRAM and main battery died a while back. It's not worth
me replacing them at the moment.
After being stored unused for 5 months, it wouldn't start up at all.
Dead. I used the reset button, hit various key combos, sacrificed a
Most compatible Headphones/Earbuds for iPod of any kind10 Jan 2006 14:12 GMT2
Many of you Mac aficionados assumingly have iPods, plus I'm also
assuming you listen to "things" on your Macintosh as well.  I'm not
sure if this would fit on this forum, but since I'm mainly focusing
on iPod sound, I'm just gonna go ahead and post it here, but feel

Battery problem on Powerbook G409 Jan 2006 17:54 GMT1
My pb G4/800 has the following problem : when arriving to about 65% (2
hours) it suddently falls down to 0 and I must plug it in. Then the
battery  charges from 0 to 100%.
Must the battery be changed ?
12" Powerbook G4 - Garbled display & Freeze up.09 Jan 2006 08:33 GMT5
My Powerbook's display is garbled with jagged lines... when the
computer boots up, it's freezes up then the circle is spinning.
Here is a picture of how it looks.

Dead G4 Powerbook?09 Jan 2006 05:29 GMT2
I managed to score myself a relatively cheap G4 400 MHz Powerbook. The
unit is in near perfect condition for it's age.
Anyway, when I try to start the unit up - nothing happens. No noise, on
screen flicker, no nothing. Not a peep.
Ibook g3 battery Drain during sleep.06 Jan 2006 18:04 GMT8
Hi all, I have been hunting around the various groups and forum's for a
solution to my problem with an ibook, so I am hoping someone here will
be able to assist.
I have a g3 Ibook 900mhz 384MB Machine running a recent upgrade to
DVD Not Being Played But CD's Work05 Jan 2006 01:28 GMT3
I have an iBook G4 1.2Ghz 12" and have had it since June '05. Today
after no usual trouble i noticed that after inserting around 7 dvd's
none of them worked, yet DVD Player popped up with just a black
screen although no icon appeared on my desktop or in finder. Also
programming the Ipod04 Jan 2006 22:16 GMT2
I would like to be able to control when and how the Ipod sync's with a
computer -- is that possible? Is there a API open up so that we can
access the Ipod's functions?
Thanks,
