LP to CD -- iMic vs. audio in on PowerBook08 Dec 2005 02:23 GMT13
The iMic has a 1/8" audio in. From my stereo that would be via RCA to
"Y" cable with a 1/8" male end. My PowerBook has 1/8" line level input.
What's the difference between using the iMic and skipping it?

My PowerBook G4 sounds like a Star Wars lightsaber as I move it!05 Dec 2005 23:25 GMT4
PowerBook G4 15", 1.25 MHz, 1.25GHz. memory, about 20 months old.
Imagine picking up your (running) PowerBook in both hands and rocking
it side to side or back & forth.  As the PowerBook is moving, it makes
that humming sound like a lightsaber.  As soon as you stop the

I have a problem with my old wallstreet that I cannot seem to fix.

It seems to be centered around the PMU board, and the machine will not

Everything on this PowerBook is fine except the wireless -- at first,
everything runs fine,
[Endorsement] iPod Enhancement Software02 Dec 2005 22:37 GMT5
First of all, I know this is a Mac group, but I didn't see any posts
about this software yet, so I figured since it's iPod related, it
might fly...
Anyways, this is about a piece of software I just picked up for
quicktime ipod issue, again02 Dec 2005 13:18 GMT4
OK, so I have a 'lowly' PC (to appease you Mac advocates), but here's the
thing-- my problem is with QuickTime.
I want to get an MPEG music video to play on my iPod. So I do what the
instructions say-- I use the Export function in QuickTime to convert the
Pismo Hard Drive Works then Fails02 Dec 2005 06:51 GMT1
Pismo Powerbook... When I replaced the internal hard drive, machine now
has disk problems. Internal disk works for a bit, long enough to erase
in Disk Utility, copy a few files, then fails. It won't last long
enough, for example, for Carbon Copy Cloner to finish. I get a strange,

Any one experience similar symptoms?
High pitched whine in new PB 17"01 Dec 2005 21:57 GMT1
At night when working I hear a rather distracting (for me) noise, kind
of a high pitched whine, it is quite loud. It seems to come from the
disk.
This is what System profiler says about my disk:

15" powerbook g4 500mHZ will not charge and will not run without a battery01 Dec 2005 07:25 GMT5
This is an ongoing struggle for me...
my powerbook will no longer charge a battery while plugged in.  When my
pb was plugged into the wall it would show the charging icon at and say
"calculating time until full" eternally.  I took the PB apart down to
iBook hang on logout/shutdown01 Dec 2005 02:33 GMT12
I'm having a problem with my new iBook G4 (10.4.3) hanging on logout and
not always shutting down. I've tried resetting the pmu, but the problem
persists. I saw a post on the net suggesting background processes might
still be running, thus causing the problem. Regardless, has ...
