Reinstalling Apple Loops13 Sep 2005 13:23 GMT4
I'm running Logic Express 7. In an effort to free up a little
hard-drive space, I deleted GarageBand and it's application support
folder (which was taking up 2.5 gigs). I suspected this could be a
problem if Logic uses some of GarageBand's resources/loops/etc., but I

ibook, G3, OS X - screen not working12 Sep 2005 18:56 GMT4
I have a friend who says his iBook's screen has stopped working. I have
no more information than that at this point so please bare with me.  I
know that with PCs you can boot in Safe Mode to determine if the
problem is with the monitor or something else. Do iBooks have a similar
Icebook power adapter cord?12 Sep 2005 18:53 GMT1
My 3+ yr-old iBook power-adapter cord is starting to wear at the rubber
flex, where the cord goes into the lighted metal plug that plugs into
the power-jack on the computer. Is this a common failure-point? This is
the white, squarish adapter (with the Apple logo) that is also ...

If you live in the UK or US then this is the site for you if you want

iPod Photo 60gb won't wake up after being forced to sleep by holding play (hardware) button11 Sep 2005 17:12 GMT5
I just upgraded my iPod with the 2005-06-26 (4.2). I was listening to
some podcasts and assumed they were causing this... but I don't think
that's true. If I let my iPod fall asleep (leave it in paused for a few
minutes) it wakes right up with a click of a button... BUT, when I

I recently did an archive and reinstall of OS X (10.4) and I'm
wondering if it's safe to delete the archived system (everything in the
"Previous Systems" folder).
Anyone know?
long "up time" with ibook11 Sep 2005 08:13 GMT6
Recently, I went on a week long vacation away from home.  So I set up a
cheapo monitoring system to make sure my pet turtle is OK by using an
inexepensive USB cam and my old dual usb ibook (circa 2001, running os
9.2). The software (Stripcam) ftp'd an image to my website every few
ipod skips songs after about a week10 Sep 2005 11:55 GMT1

Do the rights expire and need to be renewed? or do I have a bug?
Thanks,
my TI PB's paint started to peel10 Sep 2005 03:00 GMT7
So it's not titanium!!! It's just painted to look like it.
Yes, my 3+ year old TI PB's paint started to peel at the bottom left corner.
I swear I never abused, dropped, or otherwise mistreated it.
I wonder if it started to peel exactly the day after my extended warranty
"ramBunctious" SEEMS like a good idea - - - Opinions?09 Sep 2005 18:01 GMT22
The app' which allows an OS X user to create a RAM disk in software
seems like a very good idea for some Mac users.
(dual G5 users and powerbook users, with lots of RAM)
Right now, the only version available for OS X runs on the older

I have a USB hard drive that I pulled from my Linux laptop that I'm trying
to get working with my new iBook. It requires 2 USB connections, power and
data and is a ViPower enclosure.
1. I connected it to my Linux desktop and deleted all partitions.
