PowerBook Alarm-Clock31 Aug 2005 16:25 GMT4
Is anyone aware of a way to schedule OS X to wake at a particular time
of day? I've used iCal to create my own musical alarm clock (scheduled
opening of mp3's to wake ME up in the morning), but it does me no good
if the computer is asleep at the time.
pb 12" doesn't perfectly close29 Aug 2005 07:22 GMT2

Ibook speaker buzz28 Aug 2005 18:23 GMT3
I've got an 800 mhz g4 12" Ibook and the right speaker sounds
distorted, as if it were "blown."  It's all buzzy.  Is it even possible
to blow the speakers on an ibook?  I suspect a physical problem rather
than software since the left speaker doesn't appear to have a problem.
screen dimms while installing OS 10.2.428 Aug 2005 16:49 GMT4
I recently acquired a powerbook G3 233. It has 160 megs of ram and
a 6.4 gig hard drive. OS 8.6 was installed on it but it was set to
French and I wanted it in English so I got a set of OS 10.2.4
CDs and tried installing it.

dissconnect when I click Eject IPOD Button. Is this normal? Shouldnt it
iPod Shuffle resets itself whenever data copied to it.28 Aug 2005 15:30 GMT3
I just got a 512mb shuffle and am having a heck of a time with it.  I'm
experienced with all sorts of hardware so I know something is faulty
somewhere. Here's the scenario.  I installed the updater off the disk
and iTunes from the latest download at apple.com.
Closing lid without sleeping?27 Aug 2005 01:03 GMT11
Is it possible to close the Powerbook (G4) without invoking sleep mode?
I'd like to be able to close the lid while recording audio.
Thanks,
Dave
Wireless card for Powerbook G4 ?26 Aug 2005 13:11 GMT3
We have a D-Link wireless router at home, which behaves correctly with
the two iBooks of the chilfren, already wireless-equipped.
Alas, my Powerbook G4 has no wireless capability. Can I find a cheap (<
$60) card to be able to connect in any room ?
How to see external display attached to iBook?25 Aug 2005 18:33 GMT4
My 2003 iBook just lost its LCD, making it urgent
that I get an external display up and going on it.
What's the trick to this? I hooked up an Emachines
VGA monitor to it with no results. I gather there
ipod install disk necessary?25 Aug 2005 15:16 GMT2
I just got an ipod shuffle, and it came with a software CD. It says to
install the software before connecting the ipod to your computer, but
is this necessary on my PowerBook? I'm running Tiger, and I've done all
the recent software updates. I'm hesitant (I'm sure for no reason) to
My PB has a 64500Ah battery!24 Aug 2005 13:50 GMT3
and that's all wrong. Actually, the battery is close to dead, it had
some 0,150Ah reading lately. After a further shutdown of the system, the
reading came up with a stunning 65-thousand-something.
Looks like this value is stored in 16bit-register and the capacity
DVD hardware failure on PowerBook G423 Aug 2005 19:43 GMT3
I was backing up to DVD and opened a new spindle of disks.  The first
one worked okay but then I got seven consecutive hardware failures.
However, these always occurred at the end of the write.  This got me to
wondering if I have some defective DVDs or if my drive has failed.  I ...
Powerbook G3 Pismo Help22 Aug 2005 18:00 GMT1
A client brought me a black Powerbook G3 which I believe is a Pismo
because of the bronze keyboard and reset switch near the modem jack.
It does not power up at all and the green led doesn't even turn on.  I
have tried several different batteries and ac adapters (all of which
Automator - More iPhoto Actions?21 Aug 2005 16:46 GMT1
Does anyone know if there are any more iPhoto actions for Automator out
there? The nine that come with Tiger seem a bit lacking. Specifically,
I'm looking for actions to select photos that meet certain criteria,
sort them by Title, and create a new slideshow of them. No luck so far.
12 inch Ibook battery21 Aug 2005 00:01 GMT5
I received my new ibook this week and it is great!  There is just one
little annoying thing about it though - the battery is not quite flush
with the case.  This is a very small thing but it annoys me.  My
daughter's ibook does not have this problem.  Has anyone else had this
