Powerbook 12", 1.5 gig G4, 512 megs of ram, 80 gig drive, DVD burner. Purchased in February day of release, works perfectly. Unfortunately I find myself doing a lot of VS.NET development so I need to get a Windoze machine. Will include copy of Tiger with system.

Just downloaded the 10.4.2 upgrade today, and after the install I'm having some strange problems with the menu bar. The date, VPN status, battery status, etc. won't show up. Checking the Prefs, I noticed that "Show date and time" was unchecked. rechecked it, date won't show up in ...

What's the purpose of web browsers requiring the user to first click somewhere in a newly arrived-upon page before scrolling with the up/down arrow buttons is activated? I like to use the arrow buttons on my iBook to scroll webpages because

I think I have a hardware problem. My beloved ibook, when booted up, the display is not working (stays black). If I plug in and external monitor, it still stays black. But I can hear the boot up chime, and if I go through the shut down

Does anyone here know for certain whether modern Mac powerbooks have the ability to turn their main power on with software? (not merely from sleep, but rather main power on, the same as pressing the power button of the Mac powerbook)

My LCD screen on my ibook g3 (dual USB) just went partially dark. I can faintly see the HD, cursor, etc... when it runs but it seems as if the lamp light blew out. Ive searched the forum and paticularly this discussion topic helped.
