Odd Behavior30 Apr 2005 01:29 GMT1
My Pisma Powerbook has recently started a behavior that has me stumpted.
Here is the schtick. I connected a powered Firewire hub and a powered USB
hub.. I for years have used a power supply distributor that has plug
receptacles on the back and toggle switches on the front. It has ...
Wallstreet screens goes dark during OS10 install29 Apr 2005 14:39 GMT8
I'm trying to reinstall OS 10.2 from CD onto my old Wallstreet.
When I boot from the CD (holding the C key down), first I get an
old-style happy mac, then the machine reboots itself and the OS X screen
comes up. Seems odd that it starts in OS 9 and then restarts, but maybe

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=88234

What is max possible memory?

I saw doom3 for the G4-G5 Mac at Fry's Electronics yesterday.  Just curious
has anyone tried this game with a G4 powerbook?
I'm thinking about buying a 15" G4 powerbook fully loaded.  This is not
a deciding factor, but I'm just curious what the performance is like.

I've got a Graphite iBook Clamshell 366MHz, with 310MB memory, 30GB
HDD and of course, the internal 12" screen.
By default, this screen is only capable of 800x600 resoltuion.  Is
there any way to hack the available resolutions in OS X (I'm going
Battery Removal Trouble on Powerbook G3 Pismo27 Apr 2005 05:24 GMT5
I just purchased a Powerbook G3 from my job and the battery is dead and

Dissembling WallStreet27 Apr 2005 02:19 GMT9
Can anyone point me to a site which shows how to dissemble a G3 300 MHz
WallStreet? This unit is completely dead, wont power up, wont light any
lights charging its battery even on plug-in.
Might be something simple such as a connector come loose under the keyboard

borrowed a friends SkyLine Wireless card which helped extend my poor
Wallstreet and Orinoco Gold26 Apr 2005 04:36 GMT1
I am looking for a solution to a problem that I encountered
on my 300Mhz WallStreet,  I have an Avaya Gold WiFi Card (Orinoco/

External hard drive/DVD-burner enclosures26 Apr 2005 01:59 GMT10
I'm planning on getting an external hard drive and an external DVD
burner for a 15" Powerbook G4.
The external hard drive because I'll be doing video editing and music
recording, and the external DVD-burner because I don't think buying the
letters on keyboard wearing off...25 Apr 2005 02:19 GMT6
The letters on the keyboard of my 6 month old ibook are wearing off!
Since I do not have particularly long nails, and do not strike the keys
hard at all...is this just a fluke or are others having this problem as
well? Had a previous ibook and never had this problem at all!

Does anybody know of a good PowerBook G3 (Wallstreet I and II) and/or

I am the author and maintainer of the PowerBook 1400 FAQ, and I am
trying to decide whether to dedicate some time and energy to create FAQ

I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that the sound-in on my PB

switch the microphone on/off, I see a brief surge in the Input level,
but I can't get any level after that. (Input volume is on MAX.) I have
