Hey there!
I have an old doorstop Mac SE in the basement that has a wealth of old
wav files on it that I recorded with my godfather years ago, before he
passed away.  I'd really like some help getting this old dinosaur up and

dead iBook 500 after overclock05 Mar 2005 20:07 GMT9
I have an iBook 500mHz/DVD/384MB/OS 9.1, and I recently attempted to
perform the overclock upgrade found at this website:
http://macmod.com/content/view/51/2/
The ONLY change I made was the bus from 66 to 100mHz.  (Moving R341 and
Undoing OS X upgrades?05 Mar 2005 19:23 GMT3
What is the best way to revert back to an older version of OS X 10.3? I have
dutifully upgraded all the way from what originally shipped with my iBook G4 to
10.3.7, but there's a piece of hardware I want to use and its compatibility
stops at 10.3.2. I'd like to backtrack to that OS, ...
Which CPU in new powerbooks?05 Mar 2005 12:27 GMT1
I'm wondering if the new powerbooks have new CPUs like eg. the 7447A.
That would be great concerning heat and fan noise.
Anybody knows?
Using Kismac with ibook - alternatives to Apple Extreme04 Mar 2005 20:00 GMT2
I've ordered an ibook, and it's my understanding that these come with
the Apple Extreme wifi card.  According to the Kismac website -
http://kismac.binaervarianz.de/documentation.php/pgs/beginnerguide.htm
- the Apple Extreme card will only work in Active mode -- no passive.
System Upgrade04 Mar 2005 09:16 GMT3
I'm running 10.3 on my G4 ibook, is it worth down loading any of apples
system upgrades, as I've heard then can make start up and shut down
times really slow?
Cheers
battery question03 Mar 2005 22:42 GMT6
I have a new G4 IBook (two months old) and the battery is now showing
fully charged at 94 percent. It won't go any farther. Should I be
concerned?
everymac.com's specs for iBook G303 Mar 2005 22:06 GMT1

Problem with OS X Panther on Firewire.  Your comments appreiciated.03 Mar 2005 01:54 GMT7
I recently mananged to install OS X on a partition of a Lacie 40G
external hard drive.  I left OS 9.2.2 on our Firewire (Prismo?)
Powerbook.  Everything works fine except when the computer boots up
with the external drive connected I get the OS X No Entry sign unless I

Bluetooth - Powerbook - desktop PC and internet connection sharing ?02 Mar 2005 13:40 GMT1
Lately I finally did it - I got my self a used Apple Powerbook G4 Titanium
and while I'm waiting for it to arrive I started to consider possible ways
to
connect it to my main desktop computer which still remains a PC.
no startup assistant01 Mar 2005 13:22 GMT1
A new powerbook g4 didn't offer a "setup assistant" when first started
up, and cannot find a way to bring one up as the manual suggests.  Is
this impt?  There seems to be a nameless admin account with some
unknown password - should the boot disk be used to reset password?  BTW
Replacement Keys01 Mar 2005 08:55 GMT5
My cat leapt off my iBook and dislodged two keys, breaking the lugs in
the process, so I can't get the keys back on. Temporarily, I've
swapped over two of the little used keys, but does anyone know if it's
possible to buy replacement key caps and where I could get them? (I'm
