I've ordered an ibook, and it's my understanding that these come with the Apple Extreme wifi card. According to the Kismac website - http://kismac.binaervarianz.de/documentation.php/pgs/beginnerguide.htm - the Apple Extreme card will only work in Active mode -- no passive.

I have a new G4 IBook (two months old) and the battery is now showing fully charged at 94 percent. It won't go any farther. Should I be concerned?

I know zero about the Mac o/s except what I've heard so how does the new ibook with it's 1.2Ghz cpu compare with a P4 / Centrino laptop ? Is a 1.2Ghz a G4 ? Is it fast enough for mpeg 1/2 video editing etc ?

Lately I finally did it - I got my self a used Apple Powerbook G4 Titanium and while I'm waiting for it to arrive I started to consider possible ways to connect it to my main desktop computer which still remains a PC.

A new powerbook g4 didn't offer a "setup assistant" when first started up, and cannot find a way to bring one up as the manual suggests. Is this impt? There seems to be a nameless admin account with some unknown password - should the boot disk be used to reset password? BTW
