iPod - Is USB 2.0 or Firewire faster?29 Mar 2005 23:13 GMT23
I just bought a new iPod Mini and it came with a synch/charging
USB cable. I have seen elsewhere that the iPod's can also use
Firewire, and I have an available Firewire port. Is the Firewire
transfer of files much faster than the USB transfer?

Can anyone here with a clamshell iBook tell me if the machine will run with

Adaptec AHA-1480A driver for PowerBook?29 Mar 2005 08:51 GMT3
I have the opportunity to get an Adaptec AHA-1480A SCSI cardbus adapter to
use in my PowerBook G3/400.
A look at Adaptec's support pages shows a driver (OS 9 and OS X) for the
AHA-1480 but not the 1480A.

CD Drive Noise PB G4 Al vs Ti28 Mar 2005 23:58 GMT1
There is a noticeably higher drive noise (the whirring noise) when
playing a CD in our Powerbook G4 Al 15" compared to the PB G4 Ti.
Is this "normal" for that model?
Any fix?
How do I set my iPod for manual transfer without it automatically transferring???28 Mar 2005 02:23 GMT8
I have a 30 GB iPod that I use with a PC.  Several months ago, I loaded
it with a couple thousand MP3s and then dumped those MP3s onto CDs (as
data) so I wouldn't have to have all those MP3s on my hard drive.
Now I've added more (different) MP3s to my hard drive that I want to

ability to display graphics, I am disappointed with its speed related
to editing of my photos in Photoshop CS.
OS9 --> OSX on iBook... New noise & vibration23 Mar 2005 22:22 GMT5
Hi. In January I finally moved my 600MHz 14" dual USB iBook from OS
9.2.2 to OS 10.2.8. I find that now I tend to leave my iBook turned on
for longer periods, sometimes for a day ormore. I opt for logging
myself out instead of powering down.
