iBook 14" 1.25GHz memory upgrade?21 Feb 2005 23:04 GMT2
The specs I read on the web state that this iBook has "1 memory expansion
slot".
Does this mean that the 256 MB the iBook comes with is soldered-in, and
whatever SIMM that is installed in the expansion slot is added to this? Or is

My PowerBook 17 is coming up on 2 years old and I've been thinking about

Does anyone have any instructions on replacing the optical drive in a
current model ibook.  I am looking to replace the combo drive with a

More Battery Questions20 Feb 2005 09:29 GMT2
I have two questions which are motivated by having bought a new battery
for my power book.
The first is a question regarding the old battery.  It still seems to

AirPort Extreme Card Suddenly Non-Functioning20 Feb 2005 03:59 GMT2
I have a 15" PowerBook G4 (not the newest type) with an AirPort Extreme card.

the AirPort card appeared to suddenly stop working while I was connected to
a hot spot.  I thought it was their problem.  When I ...

Proper cleaning of laptop screen18 Feb 2005 20:10 GMT7
I have read that you are never to use windex, ammonia, isopropyl
(rubbing alcohol) alcohol, ethanol or other strong solvents to clean a
laptop screen.
Usually it is recommended to simply use a few drops of water on a soft

If I need a mini-drive that can do a lot of data-writing and re-writing,
then should I go with an IBM micro-drive over a USB FLASH... since the
IBM 1" Micro-Drive is an actual 1" mini-harddisk?
Are they safer than Flash?

Please could someone let me know if the "built-in" 256mb RAM in the
new G4 powerbooks (namely 12" with superdrive) is actually built-in?
Or is it just another removable but more tricky to get to?
There is supposed to be 256mb built-in and 256mb removable, so maximum
