Dropped my Powerbook05 Jan 2005 23:34 GMT5
Woe is me. I dropped my workhorse PB G3 Wall Street. It was inside a
case, but that wasn't protection enough. Now it won't start up. When I
press the power button, it makes a repetitive clicking noise. When I
have the AC adapter plugged in, the clicking is about 15-20 clicks per
Wallstreet modem and internet sharing05 Jan 2005 18:00 GMT1
I have a wallstreet that is basically working OK on 10.2.8 but for a few
annoyances.  One, there is no sound from the modem even though it is
"turned on".  If I boot from 9.2 there is sound, just not with 10.2.8.
Second, Internet Connect has the nasty habit of setting itself to
Powerbook 12 inch 1.33 screen Disappointing!05 Jan 2005 02:23 GMT14
I was considering upgrading to a 12.1 Powerbook 1.33. I am currently
using a 867 15 inch Powerbook. However I walked into the Apple store
and I have to say the 12.1 screen didn't look very good at all! I
turned up the brightness as much as I could but it was still blurry and
arabic-french keyboard04 Jan 2005 15:45 GMT1
does Apple offer keyboards with both French and Arabic letters on them ?
English/Arabic are quite common, but French/Arabic is a bid harder to
find. In particular I'd be interested in having this in a PowerBook.
Thanks

100 GB drive for Pismo?04 Jan 2005 00:23 GMT8
Has anyone besides me contemplated buying the 100 GB 2.5" Fujitsu drive
for their Pismo powerbook?
It is somewhere around $200, depending on where you buy.
It is a slow 4200 rpm drive, however that does not bother me.

wireless G4 tower?03 Jan 2005 03:08 GMT4
I just moved into a house and i'm trying to hook my mac up to the
internet. It's not feasible for me to run an ethernet cable, so i'd
like to try to do it wireless. I'm having a hard time figuring out what
kind of card I need. Can I use an airport, or airport extreme card (or
Dead battery? "No battery found" etc.02 Jan 2005 20:46 GMT3
Hi there, I have a query and just wondered if anyhone else had a
similar problem, and suggests a solution. Some water got spilt on my
ibook last night and since then the battery has been acting weird.
Basically when I start it up it's there, but with no charge, all I get
partitioning lombard HD w/ OS X and 8.602 Jan 2005 09:35 GMT2
I thought I'd ask advice from this group before going ahead and
experimenting myself. I have a Lombard 400 Mhz which my partner now
uses. I'd like to be able to have it play DVDs, which OS X doesn't
support. There is only a 6GB hard drive, and 192 MB of RAM. For whatever
