Save TV out settings?11 Jan 2005 05:04 GMT1
I know this isn't precisely topical for this group, but I asked it in a
mac.misc group and did not receive a response.  Perhaps you folk are
brighter than those others! :-)
I like to use my PowerBook (12", 1Ghz, OS X Panther) to display videos
G4 Titanium PowerBook won't awake from sleep11 Jan 2005 00:39 GMT10
This doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes the computer is asleep
and the little light is pulsing.  However, when I try to awake it,
everything goes dark and it won't awake.  I have tried resetting both
the PRAM and whatever the little button under the keyboard resets and
Teleprompter compatibility10 Jan 2005 14:30 GMT1
I'm making teleprompters for PC-laptops. I was thinking if
there would be suitable MAC-laptops for my prompter too?
Requirement in the current teleprompter-construction is that the cover
(display) must open up about 160 degrees or close to that. Also, the
Replacement plug for iBook power cord?10 Jan 2005 07:57 GMT3
Our power cords keep breaking down near the plug so that they only work
when you wiggle them just right or they just stop working altogether.
I'm sick of paying Apple $70 for a new one.  Does anyone know if you
can get a replacement plug from an electronics parts place or something
FileSharing, laptop to desktop09 Jan 2005 23:37 GMT5
Long ago I found a website which gave me a step-by-step procedure
enabling me to link my Beige G3 desktop and my G3 Laptop (wallstreet)
via ethernet cable for the purpose of filesharing.
Now I can't locate the website, was wondering if anyone can point me to
Need recommendations for powered external speakers...09 Jan 2005 21:30 GMT2
Hello all!!!
I've recently gotten my first mac...a used iBook G3 800 Mhz. I love it.
I'm planning on taking it on a trip to MX in the future...and want to
be able to use it to watch movies and listen to mp3's on cd in our
A way to plug 2 sets of headphones in an iBook?09 Jan 2005 20:24 GMT2
I'm going to be travelling with a girlfriend of mine soon...and want to
be able to watch DVD's on the plane with her...but, I'd like us both to
be able to listen at the same time.
Is there an adapter out there to allow two sets of headphones to be
My apologies (Street Atlas 6.0)09 Jan 2005 07:13 GMT10
My apologies to the group for recently claiming that I could not get Street
Atlas 6 to run on the Mac.
In fact, SA 6 was the *last* release to run on the Mac, and a check of my backup
copies shows the CD-R cheerfully labled "Street Atlas 6 Install" and "Street
Apple Powerbook and Linksys Wireless-G08 Jan 2005 19:55 GMT3
hope somebody can help me with this wired issue. I got a Wireless
router Linksys Wireless - G and I configured on my Yahoo-SBC DSL

Entorage and some of the web sites don't work. Somebody had the same
External HD powered by Firewire?07 Jan 2005 15:39 GMT3
I'm in the market for a fairly large (250GB+) external hard drive -
does anyone know if any of them can be powered by Firewire?
At the moment I have my eye on the Lacie D2 range which seem to be a
good size, look good, are fairly silent and are fast - am I correct or
Pismo PRAM battery?07 Jan 2005 13:52 GMT1
The PRAM battery in the Pismo (and most PowerBooks I've seen) are made up
from three button-type lithium cells in series.
What type cells make up this battery? It's simple enough to look for myself,
but I'd like to have one ready-made before I disassemble the PB to replace
G4 Powerbook keyboard installation woes07 Jan 2005 01:08 GMT3
Anyone here have a 12-inch G4 PowerBook and has opened it up to replace the
keyboard (or go disconnect it just to get to other items like the hard
drive)?
I just finished replacing a bad hard drive and now I'm not sure how the

PB G4 Ti SuperDrive no disk?06 Jan 2005 11:42 GMT3
Curious if the following indicates any developing problem or if just a
random occurrence.
I loaded the Panther DVD into the PB G4 Ti. Done this many times on this
machine with no problem
Upgrading Lombard??06 Jan 2005 10:45 GMT7
I've got an old Lombard that's sitting around gathering dust and I'm wondering
if it is worth the money and effort it would take to make some upgrades to it.
How easy or hard is it to replace the hard drive? The one that's in it -- 6 GB
-- is way too small. I'd like to throw at ...
