| Does anyone know why a USB 2.0 hub should not work fine on a Powerbook 800Mhz? | 31 Jan 2005 23:25 GMT | 1 |
I bought a fancy new hub on the weekend. It is a Kensington half round 7 port hub (one on the top for memory sticks etc). When I tried it on my Mac it did not work properly.

| Sudden Battery Failure - PowerBook/iBook | 31 Jan 2005 19:02 GMT | 13 |
Since April-May of '04, many Apple portable users have experienced "sudden battery failure". My battery was 18 months old and went from 3+ (4+?) hours service to 30 minutes. My iBook suddenly falls asleep without the usual low-power warning.

| G5 laptops? | 30 Jan 2005 05:05 GMT | 30 |
Another MacWorld Expo has come and gone with no new laptop advances announced (not that anyone was expecting one). But I find it notable that I can't remember the last time it took Apple so long to get a new advanced chip into its line of laptop offerings. When g3 came out, ...

I changed my Hard drive from a 4 GB to an 18 GB Travelstar (I posted early about using it). I have partitioned it to a 7.7 GB and a 9.2 GB. I installed 9.2 on the 7.7 GB and ran the 10.1.4 install (same way I did with my old drive) but this time, the 10 X install will not detect my ...

OK, here's what I did. My business has 3 new iBook G4s and I have been configuring them. I'm fairly new to OSX (learning fast since November) so I still do ignorant things sometimes. I had iBook A plugged into an Ethernet hub in a particular port. I finished

Good Day. I've got a couple (dearly loved) ibooks (g3s, 700 & 800) that both bit the dust over the holidays. I bought both used and don't have original reciepts for either though their serial #s would seem to suggest that

| iBook G4 vs. iBook G3 | 24 Jan 2005 05:27 GMT | 5 |
Ok I've had a G3 iBook600 combo I've loved for a few years, and recently bought an iBook G4 (1gH) which I like also, but here's a few things I've noticed: The G4 has a cheesier looking and feeling interior casing, keyboard,

| PB 17, OS X 10.3.7, prob. with mouse pointer on external monitor | 24 Jan 2005 02:48 GMT | 6 |
Recently (could be about when I allowed software update to move me to 10.3.7, but I'm not positive about that) my Powerbook 17 started not displaying the mouse pointer when I hook my (sleeping) Powerbook to my 23" Cinema display. The Cinema display activates, but no mouse pointer.

Actually it's not the latest, it's the 1gig "iBook G4," but I got a good deal on it. But I noticed this hard drive is much noisier than that of my G3 iBook 600--a lot of "clacking" noise when it kicks in, whirring, etc. not really loud or anything, just noticeable relative to ...
