Upgrade AlBook to Superdrive?16 Dec 2004 01:34 GMT3
I've got a 1Ghz AlBook with a combo drive.  I've seen superdrive
upgrades for TiBooks, but can't seem to find one for the AlBook.
Anybody know of a company that does this?  Or where I could find the
part (at a reasonable price) that I can install myself?

Installing system in target mode14 Dec 2004 21:50 GMT8
From a friend I have received a pismo with a defective cd-rom. I cannot
start the pismo, because it asks for a password and my friend doesn't
remember it, because it was given to him, too. So I started the pismo in
target mode, connecting it to my wallstreet and that worked well. ...

Additional Monitors and PowerBook G412 Dec 2004 16:47 GMT12
I have a PowerBook G4 with one external monitor. I am wondering if
there's a way to hook up more than one external monitor? If so, what
hardware (other than the monitors) would I need?
Thanks,
10.3.6 -- Install Or Not?12 Dec 2004 08:40 GMT20
I've seen some reports here that after 10.3.6 is installed, battery readings
are incorrect (and in fact cause the computer to inappropriately sleep/shut
down).  Is this problem widespread?  In other words, is it generally safe to
download and install it?  (I have a 15" aluminum G4.)
What do you folks think this Powerbook is worth?10 Dec 2004 14:16 GMT5

IBM to sell its PeeSea Division10 Dec 2004 04:57 GMT4
Hi Gang:
According to reports in the Dutch media, IBM wants to sell its PC Making
division for between 1 and 2 billion dollars.
That is the best recommendation for Apple, ever.
AppleCare Quandry09 Dec 2004 19:43 GMT1
My PowerBook is still under the 12 month original apple warranty.
However, I recently dropped it from a 5 foot height onto concrete.
Amazingly, the only functional damage (other than severe case bending
and the latch being broken) is that the backlight has failed.
Software for Infrared connection08 Dec 2004 15:53 GMT3
Which software do you use for an infrared connection between a Powerbook
(G3, OS 9.2) and a cell phone?
Thanks,

ibook batterie07 Dec 2004 21:53 GMT3
Hi everybody! I recently bought an Apple iBook, my first laptop ever.
It works great and hard. I've been asking friends and reading some
web sites about technical affairs, but I haven't found yet anyone to
explain me what to do with the batterie when I'm using the power
Modem doesn't connect after update07 Dec 2004 12:05 GMT1
After updating to 10.3.5, my snow iBook (dual USB) modem would no longer dial
my ISP.  The AOL program acted like it was dialing, but never did (I listened
on the phone).  The little telephone icon at the top of the screen would start
to indicate dialling, but would quickly revert ...
