Recently purchased the above, having problems with charging the
battery. Have never reached 100% to calibrate the battery. I realise
that the battery won't do a cycle of charging when it is nearly full
but I discharged it to about 40% then charged it to 98%, then used it

I have a 12" G4 iBook and recently bought a new external IOGEAR 3.5
inch Firewire 400/USB2.0 hard drive. The drive works for copying files
to, and even seems to work when using Carbon Copy Cloner for making a
backup drive. But the ibook will not boot from the external firewire

Hi, I am running OSX.3 on a G4 iBook.  I just got a copy of The Missing
Manual from the local library, and am trying to run an applescript that
it has listed.  The code is as such:
tell application "Finder"

I keep on hearing my hard drive of my ibook spinning and being accessed
even when I'm not doing anything. If I shut off airport, then the sound
stops.  Ditto if my browser is closed.  Is this the "spyware" I've been
