The white brick power adapter for my PBG4 has failed, or at least the
light is out and a voltmeter shows no voltage output.
Can I temporarly replace it with my G3 Wallstreet Yoyo adapter while I
get a replacement for the white brick? Both seem to have the same

Is there such a thing as a battery-killing powerbook?27 Oct 2004 03:54 GMT2
I bought a used Pizmo.
Battery promptly failed--would only run maybe 20 minutes. Seller gave
me another, used but tested. It did the same. But strangely, when both
batteries were in the laptop, it reliably ran around 7 hours!
PB G3 won't sleep - ever27 Oct 2004 03:40 GMT5
My PB G3 (333 bronze keyboard) has decided to stop sleeping. Won't
sleep from the sleep timer, won't sleep from a menu command, won't
sleep when the cover is closed. It ignores the sleep timer,  crashes
from a menu sleep command, crashes when the cover is closed.

Got email this morning (10/25) quoting $89 for rebuilding

lombard batteries26 Oct 2004 14:40 GMT2
My lombard battery seems to have died. Basically, when it claims to be
fully charged, it won't last much longer than 20 minutes. I recall a
battery utility that came with older system software- I can't remember
if it was with 8.6 or even further back though. Is there anything worth
ibook won't read audio cds - help!25 Oct 2004 20:35 GMT2
I've added an external firewire disc to increase the disc space for my
itunes. However, in doing so, copying itunes folders and libraries and
deleting old ones, i have lost the ability to read audio cds: I get
"There are no volumes on this CD that can be read by OSX etc"

They are promoting 5400mAH batteries for Lombards for $135. Seems like a good
deal.
Anyone have experience with this company?
question about wireless networking and older powerbooks25 Oct 2004 17:17 GMT4
I'm considering getting a wireless router, and am wondering about the
possibilities of setting up my Lombard to benefit from this. My other
laptop is a new 12" G4, so no problem there, as it has airport extreme
installed. I don't seem able to find an apple pc card that would work
Squeaky Powerbook?25 Oct 2004 07:30 GMT1
I'm currently using a 17" Powerbook and whenever I have my power cord
plugged in it squeaks.  It's annoying and slightly embarassing.  I
paid a lot of money for this thing and it squeeks!  It used to squeak
only when I ran Macromedia's Dreamweaver MX 2004.  Now it appears as

CD keeps ejecting24 Oct 2004 00:16 GMT4
After updating an iMac with 9.2 (from 9.1) I now cannot make a cd stay
put in the drive. Even on boot up it ejects the cd before I can use
it. I feel silly saying this (because I don't know the name of the
style of CD-Rom player) ...but the cd-rom drive is not a tray, rather
help with 1400c/16624 Oct 2004 00:10 GMT4
Just won an ebay auction, and my 1400c is on the way. It comes with a
Global Village 56k modem/ethernet card, but which driver do I need? The
Global Village website has several and is totally confusing. Can anyone
provide a link to the proper driver for this card?
