external display problems08 Jul 2004 22:55 GMT4
I hope someone might be able to help. I used to really enjoy the fact
that, comapred to PC colleagues, when I plugged my powerbook (550Mhz,
with ATY, Rage M6, running 10.3.4) into an LCD projector for
presentations it would always automatically configure. I then tried to
Put DVD-R/W into 1 GHz Ibook (12" ?)08 Jul 2004 19:37 GMT1
I bought a 12" 1 GHz iBook (2004 model) earlier this year and now regret
not getting the DVD-R/W option. Oh well, such is life.
Anyway, I'd like to upgrade the current CD-R/W drive with the DVD
writer. I have found a few places on eBay who can sell me the bare slot

No G5 iMac, no G5 PowerBook, no new iPods, no killer apps, no killer
consumer appliances, no flying cars? *Nice displays*, mind you, but
nothing that'll make me want to junk this one

Hello.  I am having some trouble with a Powerbook 500.  Upon loading
Panther, the battery will not retain a charge.  So the Powerbook has
gone from a portable to a desktop.  A lot of people have had success
if they completely discharge the battery using a PC fan, then charging

Lombard startup mouse freezes07 Jul 2004 09:54 GMT3
I have a Lombard with 10.3.3. Sometimes when starting up or waking up,
the mouse (touchpad, really) freezes even though the keyboard works.
Rebooting cures it for a while, but is there anything else to do?

PB 5300cs: no video06 Jul 2004 17:29 GMT3
My Pb5300cs suddenly quit displaying video.  I was working at a restaraunt,
shut it down to come home, and when I brought it back up it had no video.
I've replaced the logic board and complete lid/video assembly (including the
brown cable that goes up into the lid) with no change.  ...

Input devices for 3D navigation05 Jul 2004 18:48 GMT1
I've been an SGI user for many years (and continue being so). I'm
considering other alternatives, due to the fact that SGI is now
focused in HPC+Linux+ATI and doesn't show any symptoms of true
commitment to computer graphics (which is what their company name is
A G4 Pismo ? Why not !05 Jul 2004 02:04 GMT19
Since a long time we know the pismo is quite difficult to upgrade
because its processor schematics is Apple proprietary, so not free. But
solutions do exist today and it’s nomore needed to send your complete
computer to the companies.
iBook repair program03 Jul 2004 15:38 GMT2
My iBook serial number and manufacture date are within the logic board
repair program.  But my Book is running just fine, with no issues, and
it is slightly over a year old.
Should I be taking it to an Apple Store for a check up?
Wallstreet stalls at "Welcome to Mac OS" screen02 Jul 2004 23:38 GMT4
I wonder if anyone has a solution to this one. My reliable Wallstreet II G3
has suddenly started stalling at the "Welcome to Mac OS" screen - even when
I try to boot from a CD-ROM, and even when I've plugged in a different hard
disk.
