Undesired Wake from Sleep.. Al Powerbook with case closed15 Jul 2004 09:22 GMT17
I have a new problem with my Aluminum Powerbook 1.25 running 10.3.4
with recent updates.
1. When sleeping in it's briefcase (closed, of course), I think the
machine wakes, runs the battery down to minimum and then sleeps again.
Memory problem w/Wallstreet powerbook15 Jul 2004 07:36 GMT3
I have a Wallstreet powerbook that was upgraded at purchase from 32 MB to 96
total. I recently purchased an additional 128 MB module and added it in with
the 64 MB module, but the system will only recognize the new 128.  I can
remove the 128 and it then sees the 64 just fine.  Same ...
Can I use the Powerbook FireWire 800 port as a FW400?14 Jul 2004 15:25 GMT2
I have a 15" AlBook.
Can the Firewire 800 port be used as a FW400 port with an adaptor? It
would be nice to have two firewire ports when my iPod is connected.
Rotating the secondary display13 Jul 2004 19:50 GMT3
I have a SyncMaster 193T that can be physically rotated 90 degrees to
end up in portrait view.  I have it plugged into my 12 inch powerbook,
current model.  It's not terrific because some applications simply won't
run on the secondary display.

I will hopefully be doing a cross country drive later this summer.
Twenty+ states, who knows how many cities, camping out as much as
possible. I plan on taking my Powerbook G4 12", to transfer digicam
photos to regularly, keep a running journal, and periodically access the
How do I burn CDs?13 Jul 2004 02:56 GMT5
I've put a CD-R into my slot-loading drive on a current 12 inch
powerbook.  No icon appears anywhere.  I can't find the blank CD in
Finder or by hunting through any directory structure.  I have a file on
my desktop that I'd like to burn to CD.  Under File, the 'Burn Disc' is

a battery question11 Jul 2004 18:56 GMT2
My TI PowerBook battery [2 years old] seemed to be dead or getting there so I
bought a new one which works fine. Now the question is how I could determine
it if my old battery is indeed nearby death.
Any suggestions?
Keyspan USB adapter and serial printer11 Jul 2004 18:50 GMT1
I have an old Apple Color Stylewriter 2200 portable printer that used to
be handy for travel. It is sort of balky at times but does the job. I
don't plan on buying another printer just for travel, so....has anyone
tried one of the Keyspan USB to serial  adapters to run a serial ...
SHaring wireless Mac & PC internet connection11 Jul 2004 17:49 GMT1
I have a friend who has a G4 PowerMac and recently bought a wireless
(Extreme) card for it so he could share his internet connection with a
PC laptop for his children.
He bought a wireless PCMCIA card for the PC laptop and it apparently

Decisions, decisions... can I do with a 14" Ibook G4?09 Jul 2004 17:21 GMT7
I'm torn between buying an iBook G4 14" or a Powerbook G4 15", getting
a very powerful computer in the latter case, but saving a bundle in
the former case.
Being out of touch of the computer world for a while I'm pretty
IPOD MINI09 Jul 2004 17:14 GMT6
Although I have always been a PC User, I Always looked at Apple as a
company that made devices that looked great and futuristic, like The
