import into Entourage?24 May 2004 23:21 GMT2
I just installed Office 2004. The Entourage program is quite impressive.
I might switch from Apple Mail if I can figure out how to import all my
existing mail. The program asked if I wanted to do it on setup. It
imported my account settings but not my mail.
Firewire Drive for New Powerbook?24 May 2004 18:39 GMT14
I (and my son) love our new 15" Powerbook.
But one weak point is the 4200 RBM disk drive.
It seems really slow compared to the 7200 (7600?) RPM drive in our G4
Desktop.
Thinking of an iBook24 May 2004 16:37 GMT23
Hello-- let me preface by saying I do NOT want to start any sort of a
Mac vs PC war here.
In any case, I have for a long time been a huge PC supporter.  Then,
last summer while doing some Internet instruction for the local
Problem with Portable HDD 'Name'24 May 2004 08:37 GMT1
I am using a portable HDD (format: Mac PC Exchange, 40GB), with
OS X eMac.
I want to rename the external drive, which consists of more that 20GB
of
repairing Pismo power adaptor24 May 2004 08:23 GMT9
Has anyone successfully replaced or repaired the low-voltage plug on an
M7332 Pismo adaptor? There's an open in the cord at the plug; it charges
if I push on it. The tip is sort of a mix, half RCA plug, half mini
stereo plug, but not the kind of item I to find in Radio Shack. If ...
Max memory in PowerBook 5300?24 May 2004 00:04 GMT5
The specs say 64 MB. I know that due to technology limitations and larger
cards not being available during pre-release testing, memory limitations are
frequently not absolute.
Is the 5300 truly limited to 64 MB due to bus width limitations? Or can it
Identifying the two versions of Wallstreet23 May 2004 04:21 GMT8
I have a G3-based PowerBook that fits the description of the
"Wallstreet" series. I understand that there are two different
versions of Wallstreet -- the first version can only take 192 megs of
RAM, but the second can use 512 megs.
New Powerbook G4 12" 1.33 Opinions23 May 2004 04:16 GMT2
Would appreciate any opinions by owners of the new Powerbook G4 12" 1.33.
Leaning towards that model but also considering the iBook G4 12".
Thanks.
PowerBook G3 333  Lombard to OSX 10.322 May 2004 20:37 GMT5
I'm considering finally taking the OSX plunge with my trusty(-ish) ol'
PowerBook G3 333MHz Lombard with 256MB RAM (currently running OS 8.6)
and I'd like to move to 10.3.
I really want to start doing some Cocoa programming with XCode, and I
XTools for New Powerbook?22 May 2004 17:59 GMT1
I did not find an XTools disk with my new 15" Powerbook.
Isn't it supposed to ship with all new Macs?
Address Book for Mac22 May 2004 10:01 GMT33
George sums up what has been said here.  It seems to be, the only way
to send a Web Page on a Mac is as an attachment.  Do you think this is
because of the design of the Mac (Hardware & software)?  Could it be
to accommodate the parental controls Apple builds in and Windows
WinTV USB - will it work with a Mac?21 May 2004 22:34 GMT3
All through University I've used my computer to watch television, because
there didn't seem much point in cramming two screens into one small room.
Originally, I had a WinTV USB dongle that I used with my Windows laptop.
When I switched to a Linux desktop, I could no longer use this ...
Mustek UB 1200+ scanner in Panther21 May 2004 20:18 GMT4
I've just received the USB hub that I needed to tie all my hardware together
and connect it to my Powerbook. I unplugged my scanner from my old Linux
machine and attached it to the hub, and the machine doesn't seem able to
see it. I've tried connecting it directly to the laptop, so ...
Mac PB 5300 & start-up test?21 May 2004 20:04 GMT6
Is there any way to tell what in this PowerBook 5300 has failed? I'm getting
only the 3 chimes after the initial boot "gong".
It would be nice to be able to do some troubleshooting, by process of
elimination, but I need to know what the power-on test is looking for.
iBook UFO power supply with new 15" pBook?21 May 2004 19:00 GMT10
Is there any reason I shouldn't use a UFO-shaped iBook
power supply with a new 15" powerbook?
As far as I can tell, the specs are as follows:
pBook power supply:  24.5V, 2.65A
Pages: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 April, 2004
