Transferring bonus apps to Panther21 Apr 2004 23:29 GMT2
When I purchased my TiBook 1 GHz, it came with 10.2.7 and a couple of
bonus applications: Graphic Converter, Omni Outliner, and OmniGraffle.
Recently I finally took the plunge and bought Panther, intended to
upgrade from 10.2.x to 10.3.x.  I've heard that it is a good idea to
No G5 PowerBook? That's it, I'm switching...21 Apr 2004 09:11 GMT2
to a G5 tower just as soon as Apple refreshes the line. Yes, I know
that I swore I'd never do it <http://www.davidillig.com/cinema.shtml>,
but some people saw my Final Cut Pro movies <brag> and declared them to
be a "cut" above the work produced by the average amateur, and even as
PowerBook Fax software21 Apr 2004 01:24 GMT2
Fax software problem
Over a decade ago I began sending and receiving faxes from my
PowerBook.  Apple supplied Global Village software with the PowerBook
software.  In recent years Apple has started shipping their machines
PBTi 400 CD/DVD Drive problems21 Apr 2004 00:24 GMT2
I have a Powerbook G4 400 (the original titanium model). In the past few
weeks, I've been having more and more trouble getting CD's and DVD's to
mount. I put the disk in the slot loading mechanism and sometimes the
drive does not even spin up. Other times the drive spins up and ...

Can white brick replace flying saucer?19 Apr 2004 01:08 GMT1
Is it safe (for both the iBook and power supply) to use a
"white brick" power supply from a TiBook on a dual-USB 500 MHz
G3 iBook, that came originally with a "flying saucer"
power supply?  Will it charge the battery safely?
Bluetooth Keyboard - thoughts?18 Apr 2004 22:17 GMT1
I'm intending to buy a keyboard for my Powerbook and like the thought of the
bluetooth keyboard and I wondered if anyone currently using it had any
strong feelings for or against it? Principally, I wonder what battery life
is like - reviews I've read have said you can get six months ...
What is it?18 Apr 2004 19:50 GMT5
Today I had the keyboard lifted up on my iBook 600, wiped my finger
across the top of the recess to remove a little dust, and I noticed a
little metallic disk came off on my finger.  It was covering a smaller
circular inset object, and attached with a circular piece of ...
iBook 300 G3 HD upgrade18 Apr 2004 04:54 GMT5
My iBook G3 300 currently has an Ultra ATA/IDE 2.5" 6GB HD. I would like to
jump that to at least 20GB HD.
Firstly, is it possible for a simpleton to manage?
Secondly, is there anything special about a HD for the unit?

I have a Powerbook G4 DVI TiBook.  I occasionally give presentations
with an external projector, which appears as an external monitor to
the Powerbook.  Is there any accepted protocol for disconnecting an
external monitor, other than to power down the Powerbook, then power
Death of an iBook16 Apr 2004 21:56 GMT2
For the fourth (and final) time, my 12-inch G3 iBook, purchased nearly
a year ago, suffered the dreaded "horizontal lines across the screen
and freeze up" problem.
The last time this happened, Apple told me that if it happened again,
