Got my G4 iBook (replacement for faulty G3 version) and I need to stick some RAM in it. What sources of RAM do you newsgroup regulars recommend? The big Mac catalog sources are obvious.

| So many portables -need help to choose! | 30 Apr 2004 00:58 GMT | 11 |
I've decided that I want a portable computer (Mac to be exact) as I've had it with my bulky, heavy Macs with big, bulky monitors, loads of wires and bits and pieces cluttering up my desk (and actually needing a desk on its own). I'm in for the minimalist way!

Got a complaint/question here. I've got a 1GHz AlBook (10.3.3) with the Airport Extreme and Gigabit ethernet. I use both at home. Mostly the Airport, but when transferring large files I plug into my 10/100 switch with my other comps.

| Buying a Powerbook in Japan? | 28 Apr 2004 14:06 GMT | 2 |
I'm currently on a trip in Japan, and I've noticed that computers are cheaper here than back home (Norway that is). I'd really like a small, portable machine instead of my huge, bulky, heavy PowerMac 9600 (upgraded with a G3 processor), bulky monitor,

| Tablet? | 27 Apr 2004 23:44 GMT | 37 |
Has anyone insight into what Apple might be doing to join the 'tablet' market? Tablet computers/interfaces are definitely a powerful niche, in fact the pen and touchscreen keyboard (without pen) was anticipated over ten years ago. Is Apple going to join in or lose it?

Hey all. UNIX refugee. I just bought a new 14" G4 iBook to compile on. Out of curiousity, what setting do you guys set for font smoothing? Strangely, its set to CRT out of the box (which makes little sense).

| using a powerbook with a VGA monitor | 23 Apr 2004 17:22 GMT | 1 |
Ive been thinking about purchasing a new Powerbook to replace my desktop G3. ive noticed that the display on the Powerbook is far inferior than that of an external monitor. Im guessing this is to do with Powerbook display and nothing to do with the graphics card.

| Woo Woo! New PowerBook | 23 Apr 2004 13:21 GMT | 6 |
With the new aluminum PowerBooks, the price drop on the titaniums has suddently made them a lot more affordable. The best time to buy a PowerBook is after the new model comes out and old models are offered with a significant discount. Add Applecare to cover maintenance and
