I need to get a new battery for my wife's trusty old 3400. Should I get a NiMH, or a Li-Ion? Which is better? What's the difference as far as how and when to charge or how far to run it down? They're both pretty cheap these days.

I've just bought an Iomega 48/24/48 USB 2 CD writer and I cannot get Toast (or Jam) to see it. I know the solution to the problem will probably lie in some combination of extensions (USB authoring, USB Toast A,B & C etc) but I just cannot find that combination. Maybe there
