APM Tuner: is it safe ?05 Feb 2004 03:21 GMT1
I just got my brand new PowerBook and unfortunately I find the hard drive
quite a bit more noisy than my previous iBook. In particular, there is
this buzzing noise that goes on and off all the time. It's not
particularly loud but quite anoying when working in a quiet room. Now, I
Which battery for a 3400?04 Feb 2004 20:58 GMT2
I need to get a new battery for my wife's trusty old 3400.  Should I get a
NiMH, or a Li-Ion?  Which is better?  What's the difference as far as how
and when to charge or how far to run it down?  They're both pretty cheap
these days.

I'd like to buy an extra power adaptor for my PowerBook G4 (800mhz, 2
USB ports model). It uses Apple's m8482 adapter. I've seen some 3rd
party versions of this model for sale, and would like to know if any
of you have had good/bad luck with them. I can't seem to find any

WallStreet with screen problem: thoughts?04 Feb 2004 02:57 GMT3
I've been given a mostly-functional PowerBook G3 Series laptop. Its got
a missing internal modem, it has 64 MB of RAM, 13.1" screen and
otherwise works fine with 9.2.2 except for the fact that the LCD screen
is having problems.
Which non-Apple wi-fi access point?04 Feb 2004 02:51 GMT6
At work we're planning to buy a few wireless access points so different
laptop users can connect at the same time (both Mac and PC users). I'm
hoping to hear some advice of any of you who have had experience with
802.11g access points (without router) from other brands than Apple ...

I just bought a Sony Ericsson T616 cell phone and have service through

Powerbook G4 400/500 internal speaker problem.03 Feb 2004 09:52 GMT2

Help needed: Pismo/Toast/Iomega USB CD burner03 Feb 2004 00:41 GMT2
I've just bought an Iomega 48/24/48 USB 2 CD writer and I
cannot get Toast (or Jam) to see it. I know the solution to the problem
will probably lie in some combination of extensions (USB authoring, USB
Toast A,B & C etc) but I just cannot find that combination. Maybe there

My Powerbook G3 400 (no firewire) was called a Lombard to differentiate
it from Pismo (had firewire) which made descriptions easy.  Now I have
an iBook 800/30G and wonder if it has a name also.   Thanks..TRR
