Customise an old BlueBook?15 Feb 2004 01:19 GMT1
I've seem some customisation done on the newer IceBooks (mostly painting
the cases), but would it be worth doing someting with a
surplus-to-requirements original BlueBook? I would love to take it all
apart and find some way of putting everything into the smallest
G4 15" powerbook PMU Problems14 Feb 2004 18:14 GMT1
I wanted to post this information because I couldn't find it anywhere
when I needed it.
PROBLEM: G4 15" FW800 powerbook with superdrive (mine) never was able
to tell me how much battery I had left.  It only had a battery icon
Hinge Maintenance14 Feb 2004 17:00 GMT3
I have a 1 year old Titanium G4 Powerbook, and have been worrying
about the hinges for some time now.  The cracking paint I can deal
with, but the monitor casing is starting to come apart slightly (near
a small torx screw on the left bottom side) and the hinges seem tight.
iBook screen flickering?14 Feb 2004 03:48 GMT1
Hi... I have an original IceBook (500mhz/dual USB) bought in mid 2002
(although it says "2001 Apple Inc." on the bottom of the case). It was
bought as an end-of-line discounted product.
Over the last couple of months the screen seems to have become a little
WinXP Registry equivalent on MAC OS X13 Feb 2004 22:18 GMT7
In windows we can access the registry using the following functions:
   RegCreateKeyEx( )
   RegQueryValueEx( )
Are there corresponding APIs on MacOS X to achieve the same? Basically
OS X & Thumbdrive... not?13 Feb 2004 16:11 GMT10
On my wife's iBook (10.1.4) My kids' Thumbdrive would not mount or only
after many attempts.
On my new Powerbook (10.3.2), a colleague's Thumbdrive also refused to
mount.
electric problems with lombard13 Feb 2004 13:35 GMT1
I'm having strange problems with my Lombard.
First the battery refused to charge. All four lights are out, even when I'm
running on AC power.
Then the laptop started clicking on momentarily when I plugged it in, even
TiBook hard drive replacement?12 Feb 2004 04:42 GMT5
My hard drive just thru a rod -- clink, clank, crunch, thud.
A Fujitsu, not yet 2 yrs old but out of warranty.  Used only on the
desk, not mobile.
Any recommendations for a replacement -- a more reliable brand?
17 inch PB and Cinema Display12 Feb 2004 01:46 GMT1
Why would the 17 inch PB should down, the moment one plugs the Cinema
Display into its ADC port.
It then would not start up again, not by the power button on the
display, nor the power button the PB.
USB 2.0 PCMCIA Card for a TiBook10 Feb 2004 22:36 GMT1
Has anyone had any good (or bad) experiences with a
USB 2.0 PCMCIA Card for a TiBook?  I've found a few
that advertise OS X support, but personal recommendations
are always cool.

How do I do that on my G4 Ibook?
Just-in-case stolen, at least it makes the laptop unusable.
