I have to use my powerbook outside for work and am looking for the best
method to shade the screen from the sunlight.  How do the various laptop
screen shades measure up?  Does anyone have a simple unique
solution/idea that works wonders on making the lcd screen viewable in

I just installed OSX10.3, transferred all my files and got all set up. Then
I tried to install OS9 on top of it so that I could have a "classic" option
also, and it appears that I can't do it without wiping out OSX. How can I
install OS9 over Panther without having to redo ...

My "down arrow" key is sticking in the down position. If I tap it real
hard or tap it twice instead of once, it usually comes back up.
Unfortunately, I use that key a whole lot when I play my favorite game,
and this is a pain in the rumplestilskin, plus it's slaughtering my

I recently purchased a Lombard G3 Powerbook which I've been purshing
fairly hard over the last few weeks. I used to have a Wallstreet II
which got very hot adn the internal fan used to turn on all the time.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any numbers on the expected lifetime
(plug/unplug cycles) of the DVI output on the TiBook G4. Reason is, I
plug and unplug a DVI cable from it at least once a day, and am
wondering if I should be expecting it to fail eventually.

My Apple authorised service centre hasn't been able to answer this for
me, is it possible to upgrade a 12" iBook G4 to have inbuilt bluetooth
if you didn't order bluetooth originally? That's what I'm trying to do
now?

After lots of searching, I finally settled on the HP 6110 all-in-one
printer to use with my G3 powerbook (Wallstreet ed).  However, can't
get it to work using both a Keyspan and an Iomega PCMCIA card.
Neither card recognizes it despite my having the proper OS (9.2.2) and

I need to find a video adapter for an older iBook (2001, 2 USB 500 MHz
model).  The one listed on Apple Store are for newer model.  
Where can I find the proper adapter?
Can other mini-VGA to VGA adapter work?

I have a Wallstreet that I want to take on a road trip.  I want to be
able to use power from the car.  I would like to be able to connect to
the internet via a cellphone.
1.  What kind of power adapter do I need?

Does the Podium Coolpad work with the new 17" Al, or is that Powerbook
simply too darned big?  I have a 17", and I'd like to give the Podium a

Got a PCMCIA card so I could read the flash memory for my camera. Card
arrived in the mail yesterday. Put the memory into it and put it into
my laptop while it was running.

my powerbook had a broken hinge and a cut display cable.
after replacing the screen (400 british pounds instead of 900 at
official apple service) there is still no image appearing on my
screen.

Anyone know they work together ?
I'd like to use retrospect 5.0 to backup my 10.2.8 to a scsi harddrive
before installing Panther. Wouldn't be so nice if that would put me in a
