How to open an iPod? (Headphones input broken)01 Nov 2003 00:21 GMT3
the headphone input of my iPod is broken (the round plastic thing
only). It still works fine but the mini-jacks don´t stay in
unfortunately. So I´m wondering if there is an easy (and safe) way to
open/close the iPod. It´s a first generation iPod 5GB (no warranty).
iBook VGA connector & about shielding01 Nov 2003 00:10 GMT6
What is this VGA connector in iBooks? Can I connect my PC monitor to it?
I heard there needed to be a kind of adapter in older macs before normal PC
monitor could have been used.
I also worry about the quality of the connector; is the picture going to be
Wallstreet PRAM battery?31 Oct 2003 21:30 GMT2
I was recently installing more RAM in my Wallstreet's lower slot, and
when I restarted the computer, I noticed that it had lost its date
settings. I removed the main battery and disconnected the AC to do the
installation.
Panther on PBG3 Lombard31 Oct 2003 17:35 GMT8

from 10.2.6.
 'All' seems well.
Scrolling is noticably faster.
Javascript issue with Safari30 Oct 2003 22:53 GMT1
I'm having issues browsing one website that used to run fine on Safari.
I seemed to have tracked the issue back to 'javascript'.  When enabled
then the site doesn't run correctly i.e the links don't work. If I
disable javascript then it runs fine.
how do I open an iPod?30 Oct 2003 18:45 GMT3
I dropped my iPod on the floor (carpet on concrete) from shoulder level,
and it was in an inCase case. No damage, still works fine, except the
metalic case is very slightly bent over the "hold" switch. I'd like to
open the iPod to straighten the case. It's still under "warranty" ...

battery life PB 12/15/17"30 Oct 2003 02:02 GMT12
Can anyone comment on actual battery life for the different new
powerbooks?
What I'd need is 4 hours of writing a text.
So I could run the processor a little slower, dim the screen, stop the
PANTHER with iBook G3 800?29 Oct 2003 23:06 GMT4
I'm thinking about buying iBook G3 800mhz with the combo drive.
Will Panther be included someday in the package with a small or no fee?

cisco aironet minipci on new powerbook 15"29 Oct 2003 20:58 GMT3
Has anybody tried that? I'm assuming that minipci interface should be
standard. However I don't know if cisco minipci card has similar
dimensions...
I want to use Linux on powerbook and the only cidco minipci 802.11
Question regarding Agfa scanner and PowerBook 140029 Oct 2003 16:09 GMT2
I'm trying to find a device driver for an Agfa Snapscan 1236s that
will run on my PowerBook 1400, but nothing has worked so far. The
original driver software ScanWise v. 1.2.1 that came with the scanner
reports that "the SCSI manager is not installed" even though the Apple
MT-Newsreader, not showing posts 29 Oct 2003 02:07 GMT3
I downloaded and installed Newsreader last night but I'm having issues with
it. I've posted messages, but they never show up even when I check for new
posts. I know they've been posted because they show up fine using google
groups in Safari or on my Windows system using Outlook ...
Expose on a 17"PB28 Oct 2003 04:21 GMT1
Probably a stupid question, but how do you get the F9-11 keys keys to
work with Expose in Panther.  When I hit them I get the keyboard
backlight controls instead.  Nothing in the help menues.
Could be dependant on the ambient light level?  In a darker environment,
PB 12" RAM Installation27 Oct 2003 21:06 GMT2
I was thinking of getting a new PB 12" soon and I was wondering how hard is it
to install RAM?   On my iBook it was easy, just open the keyboard and remove
the metal RAM cover.
Can I do it or should I have the dealer do it?
