G3 Wall Street Li-Ion Battery Problem31 Jul 2003 21:46 GMT9
I have a G3 Wall Street with a newer Lithium-Ion battery. Suddenly the
machine stopped recognizing the battery, showing an "X" through the battery
icon on the desktop menu. This happened after I'd bumped the computer
accidentally, but not violently, against a doorway while it was in ...

recording phonecalls on pbook31 Jul 2003 13:05 GMT1
I need to record phone conversations/interviews on my pbook. I've got
a Radio Shack device that fits between the handset and the phone with
a plug that goes to my iMic. (There's a picture of it at
http://www.mysale.ca/sales/6213.html) It works except that there's a
PB 540c + 9.1 - serial port not seen by comm toolbox31 Jul 2003 03:58 GMT5
I've got OS 9.1 running on a PB 540c (stop chuckling - it actually
runs quite well!).  In fact, I've crammed it onto a Compact Flash card
with 30Mb to spare, so I can shut down the HD and have it run
silently.  However my problem is that the comm toolbox is not seeing
Next generation of Powerbooks?31 Jul 2003 00:40 GMT3
I'm planning on buying a new Mac laptop, and want to set up the airport
system to make it wireless around the house. (Integrated with my
hardworking G3...which I one day want to replace with a G5, but first,
a new laptop to replace my dead 270)
powerbook sound29 Jul 2003 18:45 GMT3
I recently purchased the 12 inch powerbook, which I absolutely love (
being an old unix hack and all ).  I have noticed what can only be
described as laggy sound... any time  an asynchronous sound event occurs
( such as when an error occurs ),  I hear the speakers initialize, then
What Do I Do With Old Batteries?29 Jul 2003 00:00 GMT2
Does anyone recycle old powerbook batteries?  I have two batteries for the
Wallstreet Powerbook.  Both no longer hold a charge.  Is there anywhere I
could get a trade in towards a new battery, or are they just two
paperweights?  I understand that Lithium Ion batteries go bad after ...
iBook Power supply27 Jul 2003 01:44 GMT1
I thought I recall hearing about a recall or problem with some iBook
power supplies getting too hot. Does anyone have the facts on this?
I just picked up a little 800 MHz. Dual USB iBook for my wife unit and,
while it seems to work just fine, the power cube does get warm.
APM TUNER26 Jul 2003 14:35 GMT1
I know I have done this in the past, but I cannot recall how I did it...
In the documentation for APM Tuner, it says,
"By clicking on the Zoom Box, a second slider to specify a separate
value after sleep will appear. This value will be set after waking from
Pismo Parts26 Jul 2003 00:33 GMT2

unfortunates, so it looks like I'll have to replace the backlight(s).

Wallstreet DVD Player Question25 Jul 2003 00:33 GMT3
I have a Wallstreet 233 MHz rev B.  I purchased the Apple DVD kit for it
back in 1999.  Recently, the DVD player has been forgetting its region
setting each time I remove the PC card and reinstall it, or shut down the
machine.  I can change the region setting four more times.  It ...
PBG4 Ti Battery Question24 Jul 2003 21:15 GMT1
A beginner question on this PowerBook and battery.
When not in use, how quickly does the battery drain?
I charged fully and it was down to 35% after 3 weeks of no use.
Directions say to charge battery when storing and also remove battery if
Wallstreet-OS 9.2-USB Enabler24 Jul 2003 18:56 GMT4
Re: Wallstreet with Macally USB PCMCIA card; after reformatting drive
and installing 9.2, I cannot get USB devices to work. Remember there
was a USB enabler (extension?) but cannot find this file anywhere on my
backups, install cds, or on the net. Further, is USB enabler required/
Outbound Notebook 2030S Driver Disk24 Jul 2003 04:23 GMT2
Anybody out there still have driver disk(s) for this old 68k Mac clone?
Maybe even the most recent? (1.3.3 I think) Is there any place on the
internet the drivers reside?
I already know about the site at http://surf.to/outbound/
PB5300 Infrared board in a PB19023 Jul 2003 17:09 GMT1
Does taking a PB5300 infrared board/cable (removed from the PB5300
obviously) and installing it in a PB190 work? Is it the exact same
board/interface as what Apple used to sell seperately for the PB190?
Thanks in advance for any info,
