My daughter's iBook freezes up occasionally (ha!) and she has to do a hard
restart. After this completes, the clock is set back to 1900 (or whatever the
default date is). I'm thinking a bad PRAM battery, although the iBook is less
than a year old. Any other ideas?

  I have an iBook on OS 9.2 that has been giving me problems with finder
quits on wake from sleep. It doesn't happen all the time, but often enough
to be annoying. I've done some research in google groups and tried most of
the suggestions that were offered for similar problems ...

I still use my 3400c, but would like it to be a bit faster...
I guess, there must have been a G3 upgrade at some stage. How fast can
you get? Double the speed of the 3400c?
What's the name of the processor card I need to look for?

I'm thinking about buying G3 iBook,
however, G5 is now available, and I'm afraid that when buying this G3, I'll
pay for something which will be out of the market very soon, with no support
for new (OS) software, etc, etc. (it won't be long till we see G5 powerbooks

Are iBooks equiped with two USB 1.0 ports, or 2.0?

Hi guys, I am a PC user desperate for an Apple laptop, is it worth my
trouble to buy a 12" powerbook right now?  I hear that even though wwdc
announced nothing, that its still pretty certain they are upgrading the
laptop line soon.  anyone have any info or opinion?

I got two PB 1400 machines (166c) for my office, where we plan to use
them as overflow word processing machines people can check out, take
home or to the library, etc. Finding some cheap 32 MB RAM at The Chip

I am in the market for a g4 powerbook.  Is there a site that compares
the different models?  Is any particular model known to be more
reliable?  Any with a history of problems?  I'm running a g3 266, and I

I tried reading the files off of a Smart Media card and the dates came
out wrong.  I think that OS X is reading the dates as being UTC and then
displaying them in local time so the time comes out 8 hours later than
actual.  These are picture files and the correct time is ...

I'm having some weird problems with my new 700 MHz 12-inch iBook.
I'm running OS 9.2.2 exclusively on this machine, except for its
initial startup in OS X and one startup in X to network to a Windows
XP machine.
