I am having issues with Office - particularly Excel, changing currency signs to $. I am in the UK and would like the default to be the £ sign.

This is an OLD question -- I have not updated MS Office for a long
time ( a long story ) -- and am moving from really old computer to a
newer on --  I have an UPGRADE from Office to Office X --that looks
for the version 9 software ....but this computer doesn't have any

Had a long conversation via e-mail with some folks.
What *seems* to be the problem -- the new 12.1 version of Office apps
are not "respecting" the *old* file "types" and/or "creators"

Working offlist with Steve Maser, I found a solution that should allow
to batch process files that refuse to open through a Double-click with
the Service Pack 1 for Office 2008.
The problem appears to be related to the file Type and Creator.

Please help with the definition of the second "0x0" code. XP sp2 machine will
not boot or boot to media for recovery console. Thanks

With Word 2008 running, I try to use the clip art gallery and the system freezes and the gallery doesn't open. In fact, it is necessary to force quit the app to get the system back.

I can see my web page fine using Internet Explorer, but for those who use
Mozilla they can't see it with that server.  Neither can I with Mozilla.  Can
someone tell me what may be blocking it? Thank you
