Sometimes (once in 5 time), when I quit Word or Excel, the application window closes, but the light remains on next to the application icon in the dock. I have to force quit to get the application to close.

This is a very important feature to me, and Office 2008 has disabled this ability. Why can't spotlight look inside of these files, or find them at all? Do I have the settings wrong?

Word 2008 refuses to save on PowerBook G4, OS X 10.5.2, and announces "Word encountered an error...". with the "Report" option.
However, this error renders the application useless, since you don't dare to work in Word if you don't know if it can be saved.
Ia this a common issue?

I have a new iMac running Leopard and want to install Office 2008. I have all the minimum requirements but can't seem to verify my hard disk format (HFS+). Instructions in the install guide suggests:
