I have a legit copy of Office 2004 v.11.1 and I'm trying to upgrade to
11.2.6 and i keep getting the following error:
The installer could not locate the correct version of the software
required to install the update. See the Read Me file included with this

I have the Teacher and Student version of 2004. When I install, the
Microsoft Component Plugin info shows V11.2.2 (the applications all
show 11.2.0--see end of msg).  Autoupdating downloads the update 11.2.5
and I get the "can't find correct version..." you all know the bull.

I have got Office2004 for Mac. I tried updating the software, but after
downloading update 11.2.5 the update manager closes without installing.
Checking for updates again results in finding the update I already
downloaded without getting installed.

Has anyone else had this problem with Office:mac?  Trying it on a new
macbook pro (intel).  This is the only CD that won't run.  There are no
surface marks or defects.  Any ideas?

I'm upgrading from Office x to Office 2004 and am finding that the
installer doesn't import the preferences (autocorrect, auto text, etc.)
to 2004. When I look in ~/library/preferences/microsoft I find 2
versions of all the preference files (Powerpoint Settings (10)
