Premature Expiration of Office Test Drive for Mac28 Feb 2006 23:13 GMT3
Has anyone experienced this?  I just got a new Powerbook yesterday and
when I tried to use PowerPoint the next day (today), it said that the
trial period had expired.  Now, isn't this supposed to last for 30
days?  What gives?  Anyone with any suggestions?

I've recently deployed LCS 2005 SP1 in my network environment, but somehow I

I am running a G5 Imac 1.8Ghz and a G4 Powerbook 1.5GHz and have been
happily running office X on both machines for as long as I've owned
them (1 and 2 years respectively)  Before the Pbook, I also had an I
book running Office X for 18 months with no troubles.

Most of our users have remote home directories, running Mac OS 10.3.9.
The home directories are stored on file servers.  We were using a
separate LDAP server for authentication.  Office 2004 is installed
locally, in the users' Applications folder.

In Word and in Entourage my name appears as "trial user."
For example, if I print an email message, the header includes "trial user,"
or if I add a comment to a Word document, the comment is attributed to

iSight, Versiontracker pro tellls me i need to update office to version
11.x i download the installer and it says i don't meet the requirements
for the upgrade. And the read me file is corrupted so i cannot read ...
