I am wanting to purchase MS Office 2004, is there going to be a newer version anytime soon or should I go ahead and buy? Does anyone know of any good deals on the professional version of this software. I will also need Windows XP.

I know this might seem like a stupid thing, but the notification sounds from mac office have stopped after I upgraded to mac office 2004. The sounds that sound when you save, open, etc a document. This happend to all my office programs (Word, Excel and Powerpoint). Does anyone know

Ever since I installed Adobe Acrobat 7, Word, Excel and PowerPoint won´t launch. All I get is an Error reporting window. Does this have to do with the PDF templates? I desperate need them to run.

I have a number of files created with old versions of Office for Mac. (1.X, etc.). I can't open them with Office X. Any ideaas how to open the files without going back to version 1.X on another computer. Thanks

I have the student/teacher version of Office 2004, and I installed the "standard" package last night. However, I need Equation Editor too, so I ended up reinstalling Office with that option selected. Now it's complaining of not finding the proper fonts.

This appears to be an issue that dates back a few years. I'm currently using Office 2004. In any office application, if I try and insert an EPS file that has a TIFF preview embedded in it, the Office application crashes. This seems strange to me, because:

For the last 5 years at least, word:Mac has been missing a feature which Word for Windows has had: the capability of embedding files (objects) into documents (besides other Microsoft Office files). I have been told that this was due to a limitation in the MacOS.
