MS should post Office X uninstall program28 Feb 2005 14:13 GMT3
Microsoft in its infinite wisdom decided not to install the Office X
uninstall program on hard drives. Instead you must find it on the
Office X CD. This is really stupid. Microsoft should post the Office X
uninstall program on its website. People shouldn't have to hunt down

Two things are driving me nuts about my Office X:
- When I command-tab out of Entourage, more often than not, the frontmost
window gets sent to the back. This is terribly annoying because most of the
time when I'm command-tabbing, I'm going to Finder to select a file I need
Office 2004 11.1.0 update installation fails.25 Feb 2005 16:48 GMT5
Tried running the 11.1.0 updater, and each time, it fails. Followed
the updater instructions (including killing Office Notifications).
Tried running the updater several times. Tried repairing permissions
and rebooting. Tried running the updater on a clean install of Office

I have office 2004 installed on two computers in my home - a powerbook
and a powermac.  I was testing office 2004 on my powerbook and when I
felt that everything was okay, I installed it on my powermac.  Problem
is, it didn't behave the same way on my desktop machine.  Opening v.X
accidentally replaced existing file25 Feb 2005 00:11 GMT2
I accidentally answered "yes" to replacing an existing document with a
new one of the same name.  Is there any way to recover the old document?
Reinstalling Office X23 Feb 2005 20:00 GMT2
I am reinstalling Office X on all the computers at work because someone
installed the same software on 2 computers. And I don't know which
ones. I was told that I might be able to unlicense the computer and
then reinstall which will replace what currently exists on the
Installing Office 200422 Feb 2005 23:33 GMT10
A few months ago, I installed Office 2004 for Mac on my computer.  I
previously had Office Test Drive on my computer, so now when I receive
a Word attachment in an email, it automatically tries to open the Test
Drive application instead of the correct Word application.  I looked
saving problems, macro en/disabling22 Feb 2005 04:33 GMT4
I have just upgraded to Office 2004; since Office X updates, I have
been unable to open files I created without 1) enabling macros, even
though I have deleted the simple macros I have created. 2) responding
to the "save" dialogue, even though I have not made ANY changes (in
Office 2004 is Slow22 Feb 2005 01:28 GMT4
I have a iMac G5 (1.8GHz) with 512MB of RAM and OS 10.3.8.  I've
recently bought the Pro version of Microsoft Office 2004.  All Office
programs run slow; for example, as I type in Word the text will
consistantly take a few second to appear on the screen; in Excel, the
Is there a more active board for Mac/Office questions?21 Feb 2005 20:32 GMT7
Just wondering.  Most discussion groups I visit have much more traffic and
answers within minutes rather than days.  Am I posting in the wrong areas?

Can't see Office disk when trying to install Office 200420 Feb 2005 16:21 GMT1
We have a new G5 iMac.
In preparation for installing Office 2004, we removed the Office Test
Drive.  It looked like it was still there so we dragged the entire
folder to the trash.
