I have an 8-port WIRED linksys Router to which I want to add the best
'N' router that will take advantage of the 'N' technology in my MacBook
Pro. The router has to broadcast throughout a three story frame house.
I have an older 'G' technology wireless Linksys router that works ok ...
Original iMac Troubles15 Mar 2008 00:06 GMT7
A friend of mine was given one of the first generation iMacs. It still
runs OS9.
She wants to let her kids use it for Internet stuff but it locks up
not too long after it boots.
Websense12 Mar 2008 22:26 GMT1
We have a server running websense, and none of our PC clients can
bypass blocked sites (ie: youtube, facebook, myspace, etc), but an
after school program uses Macs, and they are able to go to the
blocked
Cleaning Solution used at Apple Stores12 Mar 2008 14:50 GMT14
I walk at the mall before the stores are open and have noticed some
people in Apple store cleaning all of the display hardware (iMacs,
AirBooks, iBooks, MacBooks etc) with some solution in a generic looking
spray bottle and a soft rag.
iMac Memory Upgrade10 Mar 2008 13:55 GMT7
I have an older iMac 700 MHZ with 256 KB ram and want to upgrade.  I took
the cover off the bottom of the computer and it seems there is an empty slot
there.  I believe it will take up to 1 gig of ram, which is what I want to
do.
Generic dvd boot problem09 Mar 2008 22:44 GMT5
I have a power mac G4 (Yikes!) that has 384MB of ram and two
harddisks. I recently installed a DVD player pulled out of an old,
dead PC. It works fine mostly, but will not boot or play movie DVD's.
Any ideas on drivers I can download to boot DVD's--I want to install
Mac Monitor problem09 Mar 2008 06:45 GMT1
I must confess I have never posted to this group but hopefully those
hear will be kind enough to steer me in the right direction. I'm not
incredibly tech savvy either so bear with me. I have a G4 500mhz AGP
tower at home that has been great. I bought it used about 3 years ago

best way to recover data from ibook HD?06 Mar 2008 19:39 GMT2
My laptop has finally packed up but I am sure it is the MB or something else
and not the harddrive. What is the best my of recovering the data from the
harddrive? If I take it out can I then attach it to a Windows PC and get the
data of that way or does it need to be connected to ...
Migration to Mactel - any gotchas get you?05 Mar 2008 14:15 GMT11
I'm finally upgrading my aging Powerbook PPC@1.5ghz to a new MacBook Pro,
and am wondering what it is I haven't though of that I'll run into later.
I upgraded the family Win system to an iMac, but that was a complete
rebuild and migration - for the MBP I was just thinking of ...
Bondi Blue iMac dead?05 Mar 2008 00:11 GMT9
This morning, my husband said his G3 iMac made two sparking noises (like
static electricity) and powered itself down. Does that sound like the
power supply died? Is it possible that it merely needs a new PRAM
battery? Or should I start looking for a replacement computer?
Starting a G5 remotely (at distance)03 Mar 2008 20:51 GMT2
Hi !
A friend of mine has a recording studio with a G5. Its quite noisy and
since there's a contiguous room (wich is in fact his garage) we have
put his G5 in the garage and its SWELL !
Repairing Midplane on G5 iMac03 Mar 2008 17:26 GMT3
I'm about to embark on an adventure and was wondering if anyone has had
any experience with this.
I bought one of the original G5 iMacs back in November 2004. It has had
the power supply replaced and the mid plane replaced twice due to
Bring back a dead MAC Plus03 Mar 2008 11:42 GMT8
I just dug up the MAC Plus that my parents bought 4 me in high school.  I
haven't touched it since 1989, no surprise it won't turn on.
Anyone know a shop that specializes in reanimating MACs dinosars? It would
be a kick to have it running again next to the MAC Pro.
