How can I delete an empty partition?23 Feb 2008 06:37 GMT3
Hello:: I've got a macbook pro running Tiger 10.4, with a hard drive
approx. 93GB in size. Months ago I decided to use Boot Camp to
partition the drive, in order to run a dual-boot machine.
Yesterday I decided to do away with the XP system. So, using the
Network drives - worth considering?23 Feb 2008 00:37 GMT1
Lately, I see more and more "network" drives - that is, hard
drives that connect to an Ethernet network and can be
mounted and accessed that way, instead of through USB or
Firewire.

Time Capsule20 Feb 2008 06:51 GMT7
I see Time Capsule listed for sale in the on-line Apple Store.   I've
looked around for some reviews as I want to decide whether it's my
best local backup solution or not.  (I've been holding off getting
local external hard drives).
Airport Extreme -- WPA2 -- Access from PC laptop running Vista19 Feb 2008 22:38 GMT8
A few days ago I configured an Airport Extreme which is connected via
ethernet to a DSL modem. The Airiport Extreme serves about six Macs
wirelessly and two PCs via ethernet. The Airport Extreme is configured with a
WPA2 password.
Getting Classic onto a PowerMac G5?19 Feb 2008 07:00 GMT8
All -
I have a PowerMac G5, one of the last before the chip-switch.  It didn't
come with Classic on it, and now I need to run some old applications.
I have a 9.2 install CD, but it won't install onto the Power Mac hard
Display will not wake from sleep after latest update(s)15 Feb 2008 16:22 GMT3
Well, I've encountered my first "apply update, get bitten" problem.
First time since I purchased my G4 Quicksilver, lo, those many years ago.
I've published a similar account on the Apple Discussions.  Consider
this a hail-mary for any advice.  I'm open to suggestions, including
9.2 on Beige G3?14 Feb 2008 11:25 GMT9
For reasons I won't go into, I'd like to install Jaguar on a pair of Beige
G3s.  I've read about the quirks.  However, I'm running into problems just
getting to 9.2 (for Classic).  Both of these machines have run beautifully
under 9.1 for a few years now.  I started completely ...
Battery lock on iBook12 Feb 2008 17:03 GMT1
I have an iBook G4. The lock on the battery compartment fell out, because
the plastic that holds it in tore away (I wasn't doing anything unusual!).
I've put masking tape over it to hold it in, but has someone had to deal
with this? I suspect Apple would make me replace the entire ...
what to do with bricked iMac G411 Feb 2008 19:17 GMT3
My iMac G4 suddenly and out-of-the-blue just stopped working. Pushing
the power on button just makes a tiny short noise, and then nothing, no
light on the screen, no hard drive spin, no nothing. I'm guessing that
the logic board got fried somehow. So what are the options to do with
Movie DVDs won't play on G511 Feb 2008 11:37 GMT2
Suddenly movie DVDs won't play on my G5 (running 10.4.11).  DVD player
tells me "supported disc not available".  However disk utility does
recognize the disc.  The disc will play on an iMac (running 10.4.11) and
a Dell PC running Windows XP.  I used to be able to view movie DVDs ...
Noisy iMac?10 Feb 2008 05:38 GMT3
So, when I powered up my fairly new 20" iMac this morning
the system fan cranked up to vacuum cleaner level. It is
loud enough that Bubba the Cat chooses to occupy a different
room, which is not his usual behavior.
12-volt car power adapter10 Feb 2008 04:50 GMT9
I'm seriously considering replacing my Windoze based Dell laptop with a
MacBook.  One of the things I do with my laptop is use it as a navigation
device while driving my RV back and forth across the country.  I have a 12-
volt adapter that I plug into the 12-volt accessory socket ...
2 monitors on Mac Mini?09 Feb 2008 22:25 GMT11
I currently have a DVI LCD monitor connected to a Mac Mini. I'd like to add a
VGA flat screen on which to view pallets while displaying the artwork on the
main monitor.
Is there a way to do this? I see this DVI splitter:
Advice, on buying refurbished Macbook from Apple07 Feb 2008 17:18 GMT2
I really want a Macbook, but the model I like (2.2 ghz, 120 gb hd
etc..) is a little steap in price for my budget, however Apple offers
this same model for the right price in a refurbished version.
According to Apple they clean and burn in every single refurbished
