My friends mac mini got drunk...18 Dec 2007 05:57 GMT13
Part of a spilt glass of wine got sucked up by my friends mac mini
(from approx 2004), which it spit out the front, and then shut down.
It would no longer turn on.
I've taken it apart, cleaned it thoroughly, with isopropyl alcohol,
Where to buy Toner Cartridges18 Dec 2007 03:35 GMT4
I've had just terrible luck finding decent inkjet cartridges.  In fact,
I suspect a bad "batch" ruined my inkjet printer.  Now we have a new
Brother laser printer (an HL 2070N) which is very nice.  Does anyone
have a reliable source for toner cartridges?  Or is it really best to
Rasterops Prism GT Nubus card18 Dec 2007 01:04 GMT2
Looking for information on the Rasterops Prism GT graphics card for old
Nubus based Macs.   Have been all over Google and have been unable to
find anything but the 3.3 drivers from the Mac Driver museum.
Basically, I picked up one of these cards for my old Quantum 700.   It
Color Laser or inkjet16 Dec 2007 00:01 GMT5
The Samsung color laser printer is quite afford-able now.
If compare with the same price range ink jet printer.
Which one is better?
Think about this, the ink carts is quite expensive also.
Minimal options for Mac Pro15 Dec 2007 22:49 GMT13
I'm going to get a Mac Pro next month (my wife will pay for half of it
for Christmas, but I'm waiting for Mac Expo).
If I were to buy one right now, I'm figuring I would start with the
basic:
How much noise is noisy?15 Dec 2007 10:42 GMT5
Specs. pasted in below.
I'm not sure about this. The noise level from my iMac is just above
what I guess is OK? But how can I know. Normally I'm sitting quite and
working and the loud humming can't pass my attention.
Epson R390 Printer Oddity15 Dec 2007 07:00 GMT2
A good friend has an Epson $380 printer. She is running the latest version of
Leopard on her PowerBook and I am running the latest version of Leopard on my
MacBook Pro.
The problem she is experiencing is that she cannot print either pages  or

Webcam for Mac13 Dec 2007 23:34 GMT1
Is there a webcam that'll work on a Mac.  I had an iSight a few years ago
and no longer have it.  It had real good quality audio & video and I don't
believe they are made any longer.
Obsoleting myself12 Dec 2007 23:14 GMT2
In a remarkable run of bad timing, I have managed to buy my last three
Macs just before Apple came out with a major upgrade of some sort. I
swear the media use me as a barometer to know when something new is
about to be announced. (The last time was a G5 iMac a week before they

Printer failing to print09 Dec 2007 22:05 GMT4
My friend's printer has stopped printing. It was working ok at one
point, but when she came to print something else half an hour later she
couldn't and hasn't been able to print since.
It's hard to diagnose from a distance, but she seems to have tried all
Scanner advice09 Dec 2007 16:37 GMT1
I'm looking for a scanner for slides.  Consumer Reports recommends the
Canon CanoScan 8800F and the Epson Perfection V500.  I've seen good
reviews for both of  them.  Any comments or recommendations?
