Titanium Freezes22 Nov 2007 18:50 GMT2
My daughter's Powerbook Titanium, running 10.4.10, has been freezing a
lot lately.  I am having difficulty tracking down the problem - running
Permissions repair, Disk Utility Repair Disk and Disk Warrior.  No
significant problems found.  I also ran the Hardware Utility that came ...
+128GB HD In A Dual 867 MDD21 Nov 2007 15:51 GMT4
Will this Power Mac recognize hard drives larger than 128 GB, or only
128 GB and smaller?  If not, will a partition made on another Mac be
recognized or do you need a special program to make that partion?
TIA, PE
Apple's New Keyboard19 Nov 2007 22:25 GMT10
Do you have one?
If yes, how to you like it?
After my visiting daughter dissed my (4yr-old) Apple keyboard that came with
my G4 MDD, it continued using it with a more critical eye.  (fingers?)
Hot-swapping Wacom Bamboo One Graphics Tablet with mouse18 Nov 2007 17:41 GMT2
I'm thinking of getting a Wacom Bamboo One Graphics Tablet but I'm not
sure how easy it is to swap back and forth between the tablet and the
existing Apple mouse. Will it require a reboot every time I want to
change?
Any Chance of Quad Core Imacs in January?17 Nov 2007 16:04 GMT2
Hi. I am planning to buy a 24" Imac and I was thinking of buying it in
mid-December.  However, the tech guy at the company where i work told me
I should wait until January because Apple might annouce a quad-core Imac
at MacWorld Expo in San Fran.  I have not found any rumors or
is there a way to make 2 macs into 1 dual computer?16 Nov 2007 23:43 GMT4
I was wondering if there was a way to take 2 powerbook g4s and make
one of them a second processor to the other one?
Can it be done with any computer?
Thanks,
Upgrading Xeons?16 Nov 2007 12:47 GMT2
I have an original 2x dual-core Mac Pro. I've found that the only
thing I can do to stress the cores is Handbrake encoding, in pretty
much every other case the majority of cores are idled.
I'd like to try to keep about the same performance, but lower my power
Replace 733 Mhz in Gig Ethernet with 867 from Quicksilver15 Nov 2007 18:08 GMT1
Anybody know if this can be done?
I've got a 733 at the office and a spare 867 Mhz processor from the QS
that I upgraded at home. If I can put the 867 in the office computer I'd
love it. And the 867 is just sitting there going to waste.

Max RAM for Intel Mini?14 Nov 2007 13:41 GMT19
Right now, Buy.com has the following on sale:
Kingston 2GB PC2-5300 667MHZ 200-Pin SODIMM DDR2 Laptop Memory
That is exactly the RAM format used in my Intel Mini, which is currently
maxed out at 2GB (2 X 1 GB SODIMMs).
Boot drive not seen anymore12 Nov 2007 10:45 GMT3
The boot drive (Seagate 120Gb) on my G4 PowerMac (10.4.10) suddenly
disappeared. I was playing some game and the spinning ball came on and I
couldn't get rid of it - so I stopped the machine and re-booted. I got
the ? in the middle of the screen and nothing else. So I re-booted ...
Converting the Mac's System Drive into a RAID (OSX 10.4.10)10 Nov 2007 16:03 GMT8
I managed to replace my dual G5's System drive with a mirrored RAID of
higher capacity. It took 96 hours, and three different FireWire
external HDs, until I found one that would boot the Mac with the
original system HD removed.
Hoping for warranty07 Nov 2007 18:24 GMT4
My PowerMac G5's 160GB disk has started making moaning noises.
As I move my data to another drive, I wonder what warranty options I
might have for the old disk drive itself.  I tried looking on Seagate's
site, but they said the OEM provider would have to deal with it.
scsi-usb conversion07 Nov 2007 12:35 GMT1
I have a digital recording studio.  It has several output options:s/p
dif, scsi-2 50 pin, and midi.  Is there a way to feed this digital
output into my iMac?  It's a recent model, with usb, firewire, ethernet,
and audio line-in ports.  I could use the monitor out-linein, but that ...
