| G3 iMac (266 Tray Loading) | 04 Sep 2007 01:53 GMT | 1 |
A friend with a good knowledge of Macs offered to upgrade the RAM in my G3 today. He seemed to know what he was doing, and even knew there was an additional RAM slot that I didn't know about! He removed a processor(?) card and put an additional 128mb ram chip in this

| G3 iMac and Battery | 03 Sep 2007 21:54 GMT | 3 |
500 mhz G3 iMac. OSX 103.9. The date and time were not holding. I checked the battery, although installed correctly, it was dead. I replaced the battery with a new one that checked out at 3.6 volts. The iMac refused to bootup! I scratched my head, and on a whim, I installed

| MDD G4 Fan stuck on high speed setting? | 03 Sep 2007 12:28 GMT | 4 |
My G4 seems to be behaving slightly strangely. The fan speed no longer changes, it just keeps spinning at the highest rate. It used to kick in to high speed mode at around 58-59C but presently it's sitting at around 51-52C.

| Intel Mini ram questions | 02 Sep 2007 23:51 GMT | 3 |
Is it as easy to match 667 mhz 1 gb sticks in an Intel Mini (1.5 ghz) like most modern DDR2 motherboards these days? I was experimenting and even when I use DDR2 memory from different manufacturers it still ran in dual channel. Of course the size and speed was the same. Now

| new imac | 02 Sep 2007 01:12 GMT | 2 |
Just purchased a new imac. I'm about to order some more memory for it, since it's much cheaper elsewhere, but I was wondering the specific memory type these new imacs use. Thanks.

| G4/400 Sawtooth vs G4/533 Digital Audio | 01 Sep 2007 20:35 GMT | 8 |
I'll be buying a friend's G4/533 DA when he gets his new Intel iMac. I have a G4/400 Sawtooth. Since my husband doesn't need a superduper machine (he only does email, web, and word processing), I'm thinking of giving him my G4/400 and I'll take the G4/533. Is the G4/533 DA much ...

| Mac Mini: closing the case | 01 Sep 2007 06:48 GMT | 2 |
I opened my Intel Mini open (using the "special" putty knife tool) and all went well. But when I closed it up, there remains a gap at the rear that I can't get closed. It's on the left side (as viewed from the rear), and the interference seems to be at the top of the connector ...
