Printer Port, RS232, GPS on an iMac: What should I do ?04 Sep 2007 21:21 GMT11
I'm very seriously contemplating to switch to Mac, after a few failed
attempts at Linux.
My self-built hardware si now 7 years old, so, it's time to move on and
grow up, and after a few unsuccessful attempts a Linux, I'm thinking of
G3 iMac (266 Tray Loading)04 Sep 2007 01:53 GMT1
A friend with a good knowledge of Macs offered to upgrade the RAM in my G3
today. He seemed to know what he was doing, and even knew there was an
additional RAM slot that I didn't know about!
He removed a processor(?) card and put an additional 128mb ram chip in this
G3 iMac and Battery03 Sep 2007 21:54 GMT3
500 mhz G3 iMac. OSX 103.9. The date and time were not holding. I
checked the battery, although installed correctly, it was dead. I
replaced the battery with a new one that checked out at 3.6 volts. The
iMac refused to bootup! I scratched my head, and on a whim, I installed
MDD G4 Fan stuck on high speed setting?03 Sep 2007 12:28 GMT4
My G4 seems to be behaving slightly strangely.  The fan speed no longer
changes, it just keeps spinning at the highest rate.  It used to kick in
to high speed mode at around 58-59C but presently it's sitting at around
51-52C.
Intel Mini ram questions02 Sep 2007 23:51 GMT3
Is it as easy to match 667 mhz 1 gb sticks in an Intel Mini (1.5 ghz)
like most modern DDR2 motherboards these days?  I was experimenting
and even when I use DDR2 memory from different manufacturers it still
ran in dual channel.  Of course the size and speed was the same.  Now
strange-Safari, mail and a Powerbook G402 Sep 2007 18:36 GMT1
sorry folks, tried ehmac.ca, but the server's busy, so I'm here
Following some advice for messed up USB ports ( OS 10.4.10) I downgraded
my mom's PB G4 to 10.3, then up to 10.4, with Safari 2.04.
Getting on the internet? no problem. Downloading stuff? We got a problem.
Apple remote stop working02 Sep 2007 10:41 GMT3
after some time I pick up my Apple Remote and I tried to use it. But no
success, it stoped working! So I changed a battery nothing has
happened. Still not working. Front Row working with keyboard shortcut,
but when I press Manu button on my remote no reaction from my Macbook?!
Sawtooth Logic Board02 Sep 2007 01:39 GMT2
I recently replace my old G4 Sawtooth (upgraded) with a Mac Pro when it
started only intermittedly.  Now it won't start at all and I think it
might be the logic board.
Question:  Will the logic board from a Digital Audio model work in a
new imac02 Sep 2007 01:12 GMT2
Just purchased a new imac. I'm about to order some more memory for it,
since it's much cheaper elsewhere, but I was wondering the specific
memory type these new imacs use. Thanks.
G4/400 Sawtooth vs G4/533 Digital Audio01 Sep 2007 20:35 GMT8
I'll be buying a friend's G4/533 DA when he gets his new Intel iMac. I
have a G4/400 Sawtooth.  Since my husband doesn't need a superduper
machine (he only does email, web, and word processing), I'm thinking of
giving him my G4/400 and I'll take the G4/533. Is the G4/533 DA much ...
Mailing Label printer for Mac OSX01 Sep 2007 16:50 GMT3
I need a label printer that can print FedEx labels. FexEx labels
are my primary need but it would also be nice to print USPS labels
and/or stamps.
A little Googling has located a few models of Seiko SPL printers
How can I run an external monitor showing a different screen than my laptop?01 Sep 2007 16:05 GMT8
I have an external monitor hooked up to my Macbook. I use mirroring
and it works and al, but how can I run like two different screens and
scan my cursor over both monitors, going from one to another. I see
this in offices sometimes> Can I do this with a Macbook and one
Mac Mini: closing the case01 Sep 2007 06:48 GMT2
I opened my Intel Mini open (using the "special" putty knife tool) and all
went well. But when I closed it up, there remains a gap at the rear that I
can't get closed. It's on the left side (as viewed from the rear), and the
interference seems to be at the top of the connector ...
