Hi.  Let me start off by saying i'm kind of a doof when it comes to
technical stuff.
Here's my problem.  I own one of the newer Intel-based Mac Mini w/Duo
Core systems.  The DVD/CD burner has started to make horrible whirring

I am trying to get a headphones & microphone headset to work with my iMac
G4. Sound comes through the headset speakers but I cannot get the Mac to
detect any sound coming in through Line-In. I have gone into the Sound Prefs
and changed the input but no sound is picked up. I have ...

Does anyone know how much an Apple store charges to install a couple
simms in a core-duo mini? I have my own KIngston memory (2 gigs).

I purchased a Dell 30" monitor for my MacPro Intel machine last March. I  
was hesitant to buy the Apple 30" as previous Apple monitors I've
purchased had uneven illumination.
Well, 3 months after I got this monitor, it developed a vertical red

I have a lacie drive, and the firewire connections have both snapped
off the circuit board.  My local Mac store quoted me about $200 to fix
it,  which seems like a complete rip-off.  Isn't this a rather
inexpensive thing to replace (just a new circuit board)?

Yesterday I spilled some coffee into the keyboard of my Intel iMac. Many of

Is this a known issue with iMacs? My wife has a relatively new G5 iMac
running 10.4.9, but this has persisted through several upgrades to the
OS. Randomly, there is a grinding noise that we're guessing is the
fixed disk going crazy, and the computer freezes - no input or output -

Supposed you buy a refurbished MacBook Pro, how would you check real
quickly for hardware defects? I understand there is no hardware test CD
included like during the G4 era.

I have dead iMac G5 20" iSight.
Is there a easy way to figure out if the power supply, midplane or the
