Hi...
Is there any way to open an Airport Express  without a hacksaw?  Mine
went poof and other people sent me a link to a web page showing how to
replace the power supply.  The instructions involved opening the thing
how to use a salvaged iSight?27 May 2007 10:32 GMT2
Hey folks,
I had an iMac G5 (with iSight) die on me recently and it was cheaper
to buy a new one than repair it. I've been gutting it for parts and I
was pleasantly surprised to see that the built in iSight was connected
Backlight out on iMac G4 FP27 May 2007 10:27 GMT1
The backlight is out on my 1.25GHz flat panel (hemisphere base) G4 iMac,
meaning the display is present, but very dark and quite unuseable. I'm
currently sourcing a cheap monitor to plug in for the time being, but
in the meantime, I wonder if anyone has had a similar experience.

I was given a G4 tower without hardrive or OS. So i'm trying to
install a hardrive and load OS X. I get through the installation to
the point where it asks me to select the drive I want the OS to go
onto, but there arent' any drives to select. The box is empty. Do I
SATA tape drives?26 May 2007 05:31 GMT2
My AIT drive is failing.  Given my history with AIT drives, I want to
change to something else, like LTO2 or similar, for no more than $1500.
By preference, I'd like to use an interface my system already has, like
Firewire (either) or USB2, but I'm open to the idea of using SATA ...

Video Camera for Mac OS X22 May 2007 23:03 GMT2
My daughter needs a video camera for her trip to Africa. The Sony's with
hard drives seem nice, but they seem to support Windows only. Will the
hard drive Sony video cameras work with Mac OS X? What's a good consumer
grade video camera for Macs? Thanks for any info
MAC Pro Graphics Card Questions???  Please Help20 May 2007 17:55 GMT1
I am new to this group and am trying to upgrade my Mac Pro.  I
have a few questions on the upgrading of the graphics card.  I know
that the Apple website sells upgrades, however, I am wondering if
there are any other cards that will work on the MAC Pro.  I currently
Mac Book Pro hard drive upgrade - internals have changed on newer models18 May 2007 23:53 GMT4
Just a heads up for anyone contemplating doing their own MBP hard
drive upgrade. If you are following any of the helpful DIY guides on
the web with pictures etc then note that if you have a new-ish model
MBP (I bought mine in Feb 2007) then the internaals have changed a
Pioneer DVR-112D refuses to read CDs?18 May 2007 13:55 GMT5

Apple Cinema Display on/off16 May 2007 01:05 GMT32
My new Apple Cinema Display can be turned off. I am less concerned with
energy savings and more concerned with wear'n'tear.
QUESTION. Should I leave the monitor on all the time or should I turn it off
whenever I don't use it or should I use some in-between approach?  Is there a
LCD suggestions?15 May 2007 03:59 GMT11
Sorry in advance if this is the wrong place for this query.
In any event, I'm tired of staring at the large block that is my 19" CRT
(attached to a 2.66 Mac Pro with Radeon X1900). I'm ready to jump over
to LCD land, but have no idea what monitor to consider. The LCD market
