| how to use a salvaged iSight? | 27 May 2007 10:32 GMT | 2 |
Hey folks, I had an iMac G5 (with iSight) die on me recently and it was cheaper to buy a new one than repair it. I've been gutting it for parts and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the built in iSight was connected

| Backlight out on iMac G4 FP | 27 May 2007 10:27 GMT | 1 |
The backlight is out on my 1.25GHz flat panel (hemisphere base) G4 iMac, meaning the display is present, but very dark and quite unuseable. I'm currently sourcing a cheap monitor to plug in for the time being, but in the meantime, I wonder if anyone has had a similar experience.

My AIT drive is failing. Given my history with AIT drives, I want to change to something else, like LTO2 or similar, for no more than $1500. By preference, I'd like to use an interface my system already has, like Firewire (either) or USB2, but I'm open to the idea of using SATA ...

My daughter needs a video camera for her trip to Africa. The Sony's with hard drives seem nice, but they seem to support Windows only. Will the hard drive Sony video cameras work with Mac OS X? What's a good consumer grade video camera for Macs? Thanks for any info

| Apple Cinema Display on/off | 16 May 2007 01:05 GMT | 32 |
My new Apple Cinema Display can be turned off. I am less concerned with energy savings and more concerned with wear'n'tear. QUESTION. Should I leave the monitor on all the time or should I turn it off whenever I don't use it or should I use some in-between approach? Is there a

| LCD suggestions? | 15 May 2007 03:59 GMT | 11 |
Sorry in advance if this is the wrong place for this query. In any event, I'm tired of staring at the large block that is my 19" CRT (attached to a 2.66 Mac Pro with Radeon X1900). I'm ready to jump over to LCD land, but have no idea what monitor to consider. The LCD market
