I'm looking at a portable storage device that comes only with USB 2.
Stop - read : I _know_ it works on USB 1.x computers; that's not the
issue. The issue is it's for downloading up 40 or 60 gigs to my Mac.
I'm not going to do that at USB 1 speeds.

My G4 1.25Dual won't boot with my firewire drives (4) attached. I
assume that a wire has gone bad. Is there a way to determine which wire
is bad without replacing them all? TIA

I have a friends snow iMac and it needs a new clock battery-
I almost got the cover off but it's stuck. -I think on the lip thing that's
around the CDRom slot.
How do I get this cover off without busting anything?

I've had an iPod now for just over a year (so it's out of warranty) and
it's developed a fault on playback.
It seems to be clipping the track on loud or busy sections. It sounds
almost like an amp clipping when it's overloaded.

We have a new MacBook that got some tea spilled on it this morning.  We
got it powered down and cleaned off almost immediately.  In a couple of

I formatted an IDE drive on my Mac to DOS fomat and gave it to a friend
to plug into his PC.  It showed up as an unformatted drive.  Is the PC
Exchange format different from FAT?  Should a Win XP machine be able to
read it?  Has anybody out there tried this?

I have an external USB 2.0 box into which I have fitted an 80Gb HD. I really
intend this for backup purposes but, out of curiosity I tried to instal OSX
and it would not permit this! Not a big problem but anyone able to suggest
why not?

After 6 faithful years my Epson Stylus 860 just died.

Color works fine.

I was looking through the old Mac Bible, version 4 from 1994 and
noticed Arthur Naiman's campaign to get somebody - anybody - to make an
ADB keyboard as small as the old 128k Mac keyboard, without a numeric
keyboard, and of course without function keys.

How can I do this? I have a 320 gig external HD hooked to my imac via Firewire and Dell via usb. I want to be able to back both up to the same Hard Drive. How can I do this? Thanks.

Had this MacBook about four days and several times the keyboard sticks
and sometimes freezes, takes 20-30 seconds or more to unstick it. Never
had this problem with my TBook. If it keeps up I'll ask for my money
back. Is this a common problem on this mode? Fixes?

I'm new to the mac, but I've acquired a G3 400 (slot load) motherboard.
I'd like to bench test this board.  It has the cpu, as well as what
