Was reading at Macfixit about people with G5s having liquid coolant leaking after about 20 months. Yikes! Something to look forward to come March or so. Anybody seeing this? I'm just wondering how widespread it is. Is it

Is there are a way to scandisk or check disk a hard drive in FAT32 format that is connected by a USB device? I'd rather not have to run to a windows machine to have to check it. TYIA

Anyone currectly using Ethereal on MBP? Is so, where did you get it? If not, is there something else out there that does the same thing (that's also free :) that works on MBP? Also, if you're currently using it, will it "sniff" win or linux running

I am looking for a PRAM battery for my Powerbook G4 500 mhz. I saw on at We Love Macs http://www.welovemacs.com/9224361.html Its $90 but looks like it is just $15 worth of hearing aid batteries soldered together. Is there a do it yourself or cheaper alternative?

Can anyone offer some thoughts on this hard disk problem I have? Powermac G4, 500Mhz I have a 500GB IDE drive attached via an internal combo sata/ide PCI card. I have one SATA drive attached, and one IDE drive attached.

I just formatted my drive and reinstalled Tiger and my DLink NIC. Everything is now installed properly, it seems. But the NIC is acting strangely: It wont connect to my network properly. It reports a 100% signal and a proper connection but says that the WEP password

My G4 desktop won't turn on. Pressing the power button has no effect. I checked cords and power strips. I have not tried a new cord. The box is in a cabinet and a tight squeeze to get in there.
