I have an external hard drive (Firewire) that I would like to set up as a
bootable drive - just in case. How do I do this? Can I just install OS X
(4.5) from the distribution disks?

I just bought said equipment (Plextor PX-608CU) with the
purpose of using it on my iBook G3 900mhz (dual usb).
To my surprise the OS (10.3.9) and Toast (Toast titanium 5.2.1)
doesn't seem to like it at all. Toast even hangs and cds or dvds

I installed the support software and now I can see the device in System
profiler.app, but a search through /dev found nothing with USB in it so
how do I use the device? This is for a TCL application so I need a path
ie: /dev/ttyS0 or whatever mac INTEL uses I am using 10.4.7 OS ...

What is a better choice, a Color HP LaserJet or a Color injet printer?
I'm trying to decide what to buy. Personally I prefer la laser, but are
they better when priinting in color?

Just got a new Intel iMac a couple of weeks ago. After using it for some

and B&W G3s?  I have a Beige G3/333 with 768(3x256)mg.  I tried to put one

I recently purchased a new Macbook Pro and I'm noticing something odd in
my CD burning.  As far as I can tell, the native burning implementation
in the Finder does the job just fine (all I burn are data CDs/DVDs), but
there seems to be a disc size issue with CDs.

I have a small problem with a Mac Mini I have which is displaying through
VGA to a 16:9 plasma. Now the resolution is set to 1024x768, which looks
fine and crisp, apart from the fact that the Mac thinks it's displaying
through a 4:3 screen, so the whole thing looks stretched.
