Is there any advantage (in regard to system operation) to removing a no longer needed scsi card (Adaptec 2906) from my G4/400 Sawtooth? (I'm cleaning house, trying to get rid of superfluosity.)

I'm needing to get 500+ gig external storage for photo storage and need to connect to an iMac via firewire (running Tiger). I was looking at Lacie but have read they have quality control issues. What are good external storage solutions for the iMac?

I am a wall decor manufacture and do extensive "virtual framing". Meaning we scan images and then put frame and mat around the piece, extensively color correct and push to a high speed printer. The wait period comes in moving around these high-res files.

Got a dual 450 Mhz module at a fair price. The seller is a known trustworthy dued on .dk NG's, so the cpu module most likely is ok. My PowerMac G4 AGP 400 Mhz has the required min. ASICS 7. Firmware is 4.2.8f-something. It's installed with 10.3.9 .

What's the difference, other that 20 more Gigs of hard drive and the color? Can't see that's worth an extra $200. Is there any reason I shouldn't go with the cheaper one?

I've gone through all the steps to put a 40Gb drive in this Wallstreet I got for my Granddaughter to use in school. All works as it should except the keyboard doesn't want to go back in. I put the 5 tabs into their slots as directed, but when I get to the part about pressing down

in the slots where you put the PCI cards, top-back. I had trouble getting that darn screw back into the hole. Maybe I stripped the darn thing. I know I stripped the screw. What's the best way to to get that screw to stay in there and not strip it in the first place--failing
