Just wondering if you can overclock a mac like you can with some

the processor and memory?
Do macs have an equivalant to the bios/cmos in pcs, or is all
QuickTime suddenly not working with apple.com06 May 2006 13:07 GMT5
When I load the main page, I get a broken QT graphic where the main
content usually is, and none of the movie trailers work anymore.
What have they changed? Running 10.2.8, QT 6.5.2 Pro, 500mhz processor,
512mb ram. That should play h.264 right?

I am looking for a Mac "OS X" based scanning and OCR solution for the

iSight Alternative04 May 2006 03:29 GMT1
Is there an alternative to the iSight when it comes to webcams on the
Mac?  I just spent $900+ on a new mac mini and accessories and I would
like to have a web cam that won't put me over the $1000 mark.  Thanks!

Change HD in iBook?03 May 2006 01:24 GMT1

Is there an equivalent to 'scsi tools' for IDE/OS/x?03 May 2006 01:13 GMT1
I'm transitioning to os/x from my scsi based os/9 and os/8 systems. I
had in the past kept off-line storage on non-powered up scsi units and
can do the same under os/x (either internal or external).
But as to ide, are there tools to not-mount all drives, and/or clear the
Powerbook freezes after wakeup02 May 2006 13:21 GMT1
I have 15 inch PPC powerbook (1.5GHz). After getting it's logic board
replaced, I am seeing problems when the computer wakes up from sleep.
Some times after wake up, the screen becomes white and the computer
freezes. The only solution is to reboot the computer.
Question on Network Hard Drive Security02 May 2006 11:45 GMT1
I am using a Linksys Wireless router with 3 wireless and 1 wired computer
accessing it. I have it set up using WEP encryption which I know is not the
best solution, but it is working fine for me.
Here is my question...
