I've heard mention about a device which was used with early
Mac powerbooks which had no video out. This was a SCSI
to video adapter.
Did this device ever actually exist if so any idea what it

Bought it in 2001. Still running well. (The old T-book laptop.) What
can I do to keep this thing going? Tune ups?

My 11 year old nephew just bought a Macintosh 6400/200 Power PC and
my dear 83 year old mother asked me to take it home and make sure it
works for him.
It works.  but apparently has all software wiped out.

Does anyone know of any mac compatible video editing software besides
iMovie and Final Cut Express and

Suddenly, my iBook G4 1.33 GHz (just out of warranty...) will not boot.
It stops at the grey apple before the little carousel appears, or even a
tad before, mostly not allowing me as far as a single-user boot so I can

I am a geek when it comes to PCs but I don't know much about Macs.
Recently my Ibook started having problems.  It wouldn't boot properly -

I was recently told by an "expert" that surge protectors deteriorate
over time and the protection is lost.
Is this true?  At what interval should one get a new protector?  Is it
any help to connect two in series (ie, more protection, longer life)?

I hate to bug you again - i just figured out what camera to use, now i
realised that i'll be needing an USB mic for my mini mac (it does not
have a mic in jack) - anyway i am trying to figure out what will work

I have a AGP G4 powermac, 533mHz, running OS 9.1. And when I go into
the sound control panel, I have no sound input options apart from CD.
The "onboard" sound doesn't show up.
I have tried....
