Ethernet cable best?13 Jan 2006 05:49 GMT4
Is there a "best" or "better" type of ethernet cable to use in wiring a
house?
Like to make sure we use what is the current best option both in terms
of manufacturer and type.
HD from iBook won't fit in WiebeTech dock13 Jan 2006 04:02 GMT7
Upon advice offered here, I purchased a WiebeTech Notebook DriveDock to use with
a Fujitsu hard drive pulled from an iBook G4.
Unfortunately this drive won't fit in the dock. It has some protrusions or posts
extending out of the sides of the drive that prohibit it from sliding up to ...

I have an LCD HDTV (26-inch) with digital and VGA inputs.  I'm going to set up a computer of some
sort on it as an Internet terminal.  Strictly for web browsing and email, it doesn't need to do
video, play CD or MP3s, games etc...
I thought it would be neat to have a Mac instead of ...
Bozo Engineering Redux -- The Idiocy of the Power Brick12 Jan 2006 15:33 GMT81
I've ranted on this before and I'm ranting yet again.
Those engineers that somehow decide that whatever they are putting together
needs a power brick can rot in hell as far as I am concerned.
My significant other and I have a total of over thirty power bricks between
DVD-R vs. DVD+RW12 Jan 2006 13:54 GMT69
In trying to determine the best media data storage method, I've been
informed that DVD-R is one session and permanent while DVD+RW is
multi-session and to some extent reusable.  As I understand it, you
burn something to DVD-R once and that's it--so if it doesn't fill up

can't be done.  I wonder why. It has the same Mac OS extended file system as
the others. Thanks, PaulN

Apple...the builder of Junk!!09 Jan 2006 12:19 GMT8
As I receive and delploy shipments of Apple G5's and notice the numbers
of failed equipment, I can roughly calculate that with Apple, their
failure rate of 10% is OK...nominal....skoal, baby!  They have no shame
in what they foist on the public anymore. Now that they offloaded their
