OS X DVD/CD Burners31 Jan 2006 02:49 GMT7
Are there any third party burners fully compatible with OS X 10.3.8?  I
have a Samsung burner that works well with Patchburn, but I get
occasional errors when burning, or trying to view a disc with DVD Player
that was finalized on another dvd recorder.  Is native support not ...
IPod Hard Drive31 Jan 2006 00:49 GMT1
Hi. I don't know where else to ask this. I have heard a lot of
conflicting stories about the actual hard drive. Is it a 1.8" or a 2.5".
I'm wondering because I wanted to get a new hard drive for it. And, does
it necessarily need to be a Toshiba?
External hard drive freakout.30 Jan 2006 03:12 GMT2
I'm having a problem with getting my external hard drive to show up on
my desktop.  It's a VST 60GB firewire hard drive.  It recently filled
to almost capacity. There are
about 4 gigs left.  I bought a Maxtor 300GB and installed it on my
Problem with G5 optical drive29 Jan 2006 05:29 GMT3
The CD/DVD drive on my Power Mac is not reading CDs.
This is a dual CPY G5 with the dual layer CD/DVD Superdrive.  It had been
working with no indications of any problems. Today, I cannot read any of
several CDs, both commercial (data and music) and ones that I created on the
memory & harddrive user update capability?29 Jan 2006 03:08 GMT4
Should have said user ("non-expert").....
Can an average user add memory and/or change the hard drive relatively
easily in that an iMac doens't need to be dismantled to do so?
For memory, can one just "open a door" & add 1 gig.
Use iMac G3 as monitor?29 Jan 2006 00:01 GMT2
Is it possible to disconnect the screen from an iMac G3 and connect it
to a Power Mac G4? If so, can you please give me step by step
instructions and tell me what kind of cable and/or adapter I would need?
More CDR problems-not reading28 Jan 2006 22:15 GMT2
G4 with OS 9.1. Trying to update the software to 9.2.1.
In the system profiler, the CDR is recognized but no matter what
I load, no media is recognized. (No Media Inserted msg on Profiler).
Doesn't matter what type. Music CD - nope. CD from Apple - nope,

I am a PC guy, trying to see if I can get a Mac G3 running

Possible to create folders in Nano manually and have Nano browse them?27 Jan 2006 13:44 GMT1

folders I had created?
If not, is there a way so that Nano will recognize the folders I make
HC Soundsticks and Belkin Hub27 Jan 2006 04:29 GMT2
My HC Soundsticks will not work when connected to my new Belkin USB 2.0
7-Port-Hub. They work only when connected directly to my iMac G5.
Anyone have any ideas why?
Thanks,
Monitor blurred26 Jan 2006 15:38 GMT1
I recently purchased a Samsung 930b 19" monitor for my iBook G4. The
instructions are vague (the result of lousy translation), and no matter what
I try, the type remains blurred. Not severely, but ceertainly not crisp.
Ninety percent of the work I do involves writing, thus this ...
