Power or termination issues (?) with Seagates in FW enclosures05 Dec 2005 15:40 GMT1
This is two pronged:   I'm on a G4 867, 10.3.9.  I've got a few Seagate
Barracuda ATA drives of varying capacities (200, 160) that I bought to
put into FW enclosures that I've been shuttling other (WD) drives in
and out of.   These are all OWC FW400 non USB enclosures, as old as

I have a iBook G3, 900 Mhz PowerPC G3, 256Mb RAM and a Belkin Wireless ADSL
Router [ F5D7632-4 ].
I want to be able to use WPA encryption, and have successfully set up a
Windows laptop to access and use the router via WPA... however, I can't find
Sleeping Powerbook consumption05 Dec 2005 08:42 GMT3
Why is my Powerbook G4 still consuming a lot of power (battery) while
on sleep?
It seems to use 40min of battery life for 12 hours sleep.

iTunes store counts 1 million COMPLETE IDIOTS !05 Dec 2005 08:24 GMT55
It's about Itunes video sales.

Minimum specs. for video card for 20-inch ACD05 Dec 2005 00:14 GMT2
We have a PowerMac G4 here with the original (16MB) ATI Rage 128 Pro
installed.  It would appear that this is not up to the task of driving the 20"
Apple Cinema Display.  Would the Radeon 9000 handle the 20" ACD ok?
Thanks,
Format software for HDs?04 Dec 2005 23:39 GMT4
Is h.d. formatting software only available for SCSI drives? I look around and
see no "low level" formatting utilities for IDE/ATA drives under OS X. I find
plenty of "write 0's to the sector", and "erasing" utilities (I presume this
only wipes the directory).
Connect via dialup03 Dec 2005 07:50 GMT1
I'm trying to help my daughter who's using an old G3 platinum desktop,
running os 9.2.2, to get online. I haven't used dialup in some time, and
have forgotten how to set it up. I found an old Zoom modem, got the modem
scripts, and can't remember how to get her online to a browser. ...

A Powerbook With Issues02 Dec 2005 18:15 GMT1
Ok...this is going to be fun.
I have a Titanium Powerbook that was given to me by a friend. Trouble
is, he knocked it off his counter and so the screen is broken. Not just
broken LCD, but the hinges are broken as well. However, the actual
TV on new iMac?02 Dec 2005 12:05 GMT1
I am considering upgrading from a beige G3 tower to the current iMac.
The G3's video board supports TV signals from a VCR (as tuner) so I can
watch TV in a window or full screen.
The iMac will not do that as it stands but have started reading about

So, are ALL high-end minis 1.5's now? Did YOU buy a mini recently?01 Dec 2005 17:27 GMT4
I'm thinking of buying a mini from the Apple Store. I've read that some
time in late September or early October the high-end machines were
silently upgraded to a 1.5GHz processor, along with a dual-layer burner
and faster HD.
