Iv'e had for 7 months and evertime I turn it on by about 5-10 minutes I
get this real bad stench coming off the top of the screen. It's hard to
Digital cam pictures not importing correctly06 Aug 2005 03:19 GMT6
When I try to import pictures from my digital camera into my Mac the
pictures do not import correctly MOST of the time. The pictures come out
horizontally banded with the top band being OK, the rest of the bands are
color skewed and shifted a bit to the right or left. Each time I ...

I have a Beige G3 running OS 9 with an "old style" DB-15 video
connector, and I've acquired a nice large monitor with a "new style"
three-row mini-DB on the cable. So I need to build an adapter.
I have some data on how to strap the DB-15 connector for various

iBook speed up question04 Aug 2005 20:21 GMT2
Other than the obvious -- things like RAM upgrades and FireWire disk -- what
are the best ways to speed up an iBook G3? Also, what other upgrades are
there? I have the wireless card now.

Hardware Problem / Software Problem -- Strange Artifacts on Screen04 Aug 2005 02:30 GMT1
I'm running Tiger (10.4.2) on a 17" Al PowerBook. Frequently, but not always,
and for reasons undetermined, bright green artifacts will appear on the
screen. These artifacts seem to be related to certain areas of the image
being displayed. I'm curious as to whether others have ...
Saucer power supply M733204 Aug 2005 00:35 GMT2
I'm going to take my Wallstreet with its (replacement) power supply to
Scotland.  Can this unit autoswitch to 220V/50Hz?  I *think* it can, but
I'm not sure.
Mac Mini hardware question...03 Aug 2005 20:09 GMT5
According to various sites, the Mac has either PC2700 or PC3300
memory.  Apple's site *says* PC2700, but if you look at one in
a store, it will say PC3300.  Apparently it has been shipping
with a PC3300 module installed (at least in some cases).
Empty iPod Mini03 Aug 2005 18:17 GMT3
Anyone out there used any CD ripping services?  I just got an iPod mini
as a gift but the only computer I have is the one at work - and my
company doesn't allow us to take up space with our own personal iTunes
libraries.

Wireless Mighty Mouse?03 Aug 2005 13:31 GMT1
Would it be realistic to expect a Bluetooth version of the Mighty Mouse?
I love the idea of a multi-button mouse, but I won't buy this thing
until they make it wireless.
(I mean, ideally I'd like to buy a Bluetooth *trackball* but
Dead Dual G503 Aug 2005 02:06 GMT2
I've got a friend with a beautiful Dual 2Ghz G5 that's gone pop, or poof
more likely. Apparently it started to emit a burning smell so he
switched it straight off.
He's taken it back to the store where he bought it and they said it was
Out of Sleep:  No Router Address02 Aug 2005 19:30 GMT2
I've recently noticed that, when I take my 1.5GHz, 17" G4 PowerBook out
of sleep, it fails to connect to the internet.  It's doing so via
AirPort, using my NETGEAR WGR614v4.
More specifically, what I find in the TCP/IP tab of the AirPort
